What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

Anyone else a little tipsy thanks to their local Mexican restauran‘s Cinco de Mayo specials??
I swear all I ordered was one drink!!

.. I just didn’t realize it was the size of a fishbowl 😳
Last fall I ran into that on a road trip to Canada. Little Mexican place, but the small margarita was a fishbowl, and potent. Like damn I’m glad I have this gigantic burrito to work through and I’m sitting down 🤣🤪

Dude some muh fuckers drink tequila once a year on Cinco De Gringo but some of us drink it daily. So sorry you failed at fucking Amateur Night.

That is a profoundly ignorant statement. The driving force of the Opera is not the words but the music, whether it is in Italian, French or German. And I'm not even going into singing styles, orchestration and musical complexity. Saying "artistically" they are the same means absolutely nothing. You clearly have no real understanding of what opera actually is.

End of rant.

The whole issue of having to understand a language to appreciate a song is confusing to me. All I can do is speak for myself, but as much as I really enjoy good lyrics in a song, I very often have no idea what the actual lyrics are until I focus on trying to hear them word for word. A lot of times, songs that I love and have heard many times are basically just sounds to me unless I read a lyric sheet. Sure, I may know the phrases that are hooks in a chorus, but 95% of words are may be just sort of blurs in the vocal melody. For instance, I adored the first album by the Shins, but at some point I wondered, "What the heck is he singing about?" Then I finally noticed that the booklet had all the lyrics. I became even more of a fan, but I loved the songs even before knowing the words. Also, I love early, mumbly R.E.M. songs even though I have to invent the lyrics myself.

Let's see here,I'll take #6 Kingsbarns at 10-1

My experience with this,ALWAYS ask a lady to pick a winner never fails.

Thought 1: that was not what I thought I should expect from a website called KY derby.com
Thought 2: Tapit trice (thrice) seems like a bold aspiration for a man in his late 50s, but that would be my choice for the race.

At 9-2 good pick. (y)

The last week has been chaotic but entertaining. I can’t wait for the upcoming changes in my life. Still have to iron out some details but it’s still exciting.
