I'm a mess right now
OrneryAnd which one of the 7 little fuckers are you?![]()
1) you can make friends here. Just be selective.I've learned some stuff the last couple of months on here and I'm wondering if the connections to be made are worth the heartache in the end. People are so fleeting. Or maybe I'm just talking to the wrong people? I don't understand why I'm never enough for these friendships to last. I've never been anyone but myself and yet, it's never enough for someone to stay. Or maybe I'm just too sensitive of a person. I might need stronger and thicker walls... but eventually if they get any taller or thicker, no one will be able to get through....
Just ignore these thoughts swirling around, I just needed to get them out so I can properly ignore them today.
You all sound the same to meI got asked again yesterday if I was Canadian because of my accent.... do any other New Englanders encounter this?I've heard one actress who grew up in a town near where I grew up be pegged as Canadian because of the way she says "about" (which is what I get, too, along with "out"), but don't know anyone else in person who has the same accent as me & her!
I mean, I'm Minnesotan and I get asked that as well when I visit other places. Not the same... but similarI got asked again yesterday if I was Canadian because of my accent.... do any other New Englanders encounter this?I've heard one actress who grew up in a town near where I grew up be pegged as Canadian because of the way she says "about" (which is what I get, too, along with "out"), but don't know anyone else in person who has the same accent as me & her!
That might have a lot to do with the fact regional dialect does not respect political boundaries. I would definitely say a Newfoundlander sounds different than an Albertan. I won't even consider the Quebecoise here...I mean, I'm Minnesotan and I get asked that as well when I visit other places. Not the same... but similar
This is the kind of thing that makes it worthwhile to go to work. I bet those of your colleagues who have a sense of humour are still laughing“There’s someone out there stroking” out of context is hilarious, but even in context I probably shouldn’t have said that at work![]()

What was she trying so hard to see Shane?????That was funny.
For context I'm in a café and a lady was trying to sneak an eye full while chatting to her husband, then he got annoyed she wasn't looking at him so move his chair to sit on front of her![]()

In any context it was inappropriate but I secured the dry cereal so it couldn’t have been that bad“There’s someone out there stroking”
I imagine he hung up and had a good chuckle over that bit of the conversationIt was a new vendor on the phone!! We were chatting and having casual conversation while waiting for confirmation. He said something about the lightning the other night being erratic and he swore he smelt burnt toast, but had no other stroke symptoms - and I just?
