My impression of the movie Dune Part 2 after getting up this morning was that it felt like it "borrowed" creative ideas. I found little bits and pieces of:

- The Bible
- Star Trek treatment of Klingon cloaking technology weaknesses
- Star Wars
- Lord of the Rings

The story of Dune is older than 2 of those stories, so they borrowed from Dune, and well, a lot has been borrowed from the other two works of fiction.
