You know, I think that most everyone has a thing or two that they do well and that they are proud of, but hesitate to say so because they don't want to sound conceited. I thought it might be fun for people to list some of the things they think they are great at.
Go ahead! Be bold. Tell me all the things at which you excel. Then look at yourself and say, "Damn, I'm good!" <chuckles>
I am great at:
--raising my kids. My kids aren't perfect, but they are well-behaved, honest, and have consciences that they listen to. Of course, the true test of my "greatness" will be first, when they hit their teens, and then when they've grown up.
--cooking! That is something my husband DOES compliment me on.
--calligraphy. No shit. I used to make some nice extra money addressing wedding envelopes until laser printers got invented.
--writing. (God, I cringe to say that, but I really do feel I'm pretty darn good.)
--whistling.
--teaching young children
--being a student. I "did" school very well. I'm sure that's why I went into teaching.
--creating the monthly PTA newsletter for my son's school. That thing looks slick. 'Course, my degree in graphics helps with that. <winks>
Okay, I'm done. Anyone else?
