You know, I think that most everyone has a thing or two that they do well and that they are proud of, but hesitate to say so because they don't want to sound conceited. I thought it might be fun for people to list some of the things they think they are great at.

Go ahead! Be bold. Tell me all the things at which you excel. Then look at yourself and say, "Damn, I'm good!" <chuckles>

I am great at:
--raising my kids. My kids aren't perfect, but they are well-behaved, honest, and have consciences that they listen to. Of course, the true test of my "greatness" will be first, when they hit their teens, and then when they've grown up.
--cooking! That is something my husband DOES compliment me on. :)
--calligraphy. No shit. I used to make some nice extra money addressing wedding envelopes until laser printers got invented.
--writing. (God, I cringe to say that, but I really do feel I'm pretty darn good.)
--whistling.
--teaching young children
--being a student. I "did" school very well. I'm sure that's why I went into teaching.
--creating the monthly PTA newsletter for my son's school. That thing looks slick. 'Course, my degree in graphics helps with that. <winks>

Okay, I'm done. Anyone else?

I'll go!

I fancy myself a wonderful mum, a wonderful horse trainer (I do get horses sent here from all over the world to be trained...) and a good daughter. Oh, I speak French pretty damn well, too! :)

I'm pretty good at procrastinating! Like those dishes in the sink that really need to be done.

Seriously, I would have to say that I'm pretty good with directions. Can't remember the last time that I was 'lost' except when the commercially prepared map to the neurosurgeon's office was incorrect. And sports. I may not know everything about one sport, but I know alot about most sports. Especially women's sports.

I think history has proven me to be a fairly good parent, but what I'm really good at, is troubleshooting/debugging. Partly through training and experience, and partly through natural talent, I'm firmly convinced that there is no problem I can't find the solution to eventually.

I'm a good mom.

I'm a good writer.

I'm a good lover.

I'm a good friend.

As I loathe school, I'm a horrible student.

However, since I love art, I'm a very good art student.

I'm a good witch -- I'm not evil, and my spells work.

Finally, I'm a good submissive; my Master, the Cat, is very fond of me these days, since breakfast is exactly when he wants it and I sleep to accomodate him.

I am very bad at carrying grudges, housework, cooking, higher finance (balancing my checkbook) and yardwork.

Well...
I'm a good student, well I am at University so this is a good thing.

I'm a good trumpet player. I play guitar too but I play trumpet better than most of the other players I know.

I'm good at flight sims- I use them to de-stress.(sad)

I'm a great listener, I don't even necessarily have to give an opinion.

I can do all sorts of other stuff, but that's what I'm great at.

I play trumpet too although probably not as well as MunchinMark but I'm pretty good at art and embarrassing myself oh and I'm really, really good at drinking too much and having a low self esteem.

I am really good in business and at my job in particular. I'm a Vice President in a technical field at a large U.S. company (and no, no one at work would ever guess that I am "Cheyenne" in my personal hours.)

I'm very good at picking presents for people. I shop all year long for Christmas, and buy the perfect item for someone when I see it. I think people appreciate the effort and tell me my gifts are truly unique.

I am very good at helping people. I manage the post surgical care of cardiac surgery pts. I have even saved a life or two. I am great at advocating for the exceptional children at the law center for children. I am very loyal and will listen to anyone in need.

I'd like to say I'm a great skiier, or athlete, or singer, but I'm not.

I think I'm a pretty good father to my three boys, and I try to be a decent husband to their mom.

I was pretty good at tank gunnery, but that was a long time ago.

I believe that I am a good teacher and a better than average student.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any one thing that I excell at. Sort of the jack of all trades, master of none kinda thing.

I excel at being a Mom, my little guy is happy, healthy and joyful.
I am a good wife,I try very hard to be a true soul mate to my beloved Dionysus.
I am a great chef-I work as a pastry chef locally, and am creating a cookbook/website...any day now it should be up and running.
I am a Reiki Master and a darn good one.
I am a Healer a gifted one,my rituals kick pagan butt.
I know lots of obscure and interesting facts about sideshows and carnival freaks-my Dad owns a museum dedicated to them and I am a good daughter so I am very involved with that.
I am a good friend,I keep confidences and am very supportive.
This feels very strange, I have alot of difficulty saying all this-I want to delete some so I don't sound arrogant.
Okay to appease myself I'll say some things I am bad at-dieting,roller skating, wearing make up(I HATE IT-YUCK),forgiving...
There I feel better.

What am I really fantastic at?

*Bragging on myself - kidding, I was just kidding

*Bringing humor to any situation (whether it needs it or not)

*being the best smartass I can be (better than being a dumbass my daddy always says)

*Being a great single mother to my 2 ultra-cool godsons

*Being wonderful at any sexual endeavor I choose to undertake (practice makes perfect ya know)

Hmmm...things I'm good at, huh?

I'm a good mommy to my two wonderful children. :)

I'd like to think I'm good at my job...of course some days are better than others.

I'm very good at turning almost any topic into something sexual. :D

I'm a good listener and have a comfy shoulder for friends to cry on when need be.

Oh and kissing...I LOVE to kiss. I'd say I'm very good at that!

Well, that's all that comes to mind right now.

Singing is my passion...my sustenance. There is nothing else (well, ALMOST nothing else) that makes me feel quite as sensual than belting out a sultry tune backed by a sexy, rythmic beat.

I've been playing guitar since my father began teaching me at age 6. So after 23 years of practice, I guess you could say that I can hold my own (pick). Although I will shamefully admit that I haven't picked up my guitar in almost a year due to my addiction of having long, nicely-manicured nails. <hangs head in artistic shame>

People are always surprised (because of my height and the fact that I don't particularly *look* like the "girl-jock" type) when I tell them that I played basketball starting from 5th grade up until senior year of high school. I was always the point guard (and even got MVP one year!) because of my great ball-handling skills. Ummmmmmm...ahh hell! Take that last statement as you will. ;)

I also played tennis at the collegiate level (#3 in singles), and it is really the only (non-contact) sport that I still participate in regularly.

I'm great at cards. Spades, Cribbage, Hearts, Canasta, Rummy, Euchre,
Poker...you name it...I can give some fantastic inside strategies on how to win everytime.

I was a very good student throughout my entire educational career...not even a single 'B' in college! Guess I is somewhat smart, then, huh?

I'm a loyal and trustworthy friend. Once you become my friend, you have a friend for life.

Things I'm terrible at: Taxes, cooking (in the KITCHEN, that is), firing people, resisting temptation <lol>, remembering dates, eating right (I'm trying to suck a cheeseburger through a straw at this very moment), anything "mechanical," holding my tongue at the times when it's best to do so, dealing with ultra-high levels of stress, and refraining from using at least one smiley in every post.

I always love the topics and posts that allow others to learn the most interesting of real-life details about the people here on the board. I'm hoping that alot more of you will post. :)

Hmmmmm......I always hate these self-analysis type things....But since no one else is posting tonite, I figured I'd play along. So......

-I read really, really fast.

-I cook a damn fine turkey. (The first Thanksgiving my wife and I spent together I taught her how to prepare a turkey and make homemade stuffing (the trick is to cook it upside down, btw)).

-I can merge into traffic at full speed without using mirrors - and not hit anything!! (With my wife being taller than me, she's got the mirrors set up all goofy (all I can see is the back seat and the road beside the driver's side rear tire), and she bitches when I change them. So I just learned to drive without them).

-I can program my VCR

-I can tell you which is better, a satellite dish or digital cable (and the answer is not the same for everyone, btw!)

-I'm an outstanding 3rd Baseman. (The trick is (especially in softball), is to not be afraid to play 2 or 3 steps in front of the bag. Plus I have really soft hands and a strong throwing arm).

-I could take a multiple choice test on any subject on earth (as long as the test is written in english), and pass the test - whether I knew anything about the subject or not. (I proved this over and over while I was in college).

-I ride roller coasters really well... (*wink*... Just seeing if you're paying attention)

And some things I don't do well.....

-I can't coordinate colors (it's why I got married....)

-I can't talk to old people and little kids

-I can't sing, or play an instrument, or doing anything remotely musical well.

Ok...I hope that's enough.....

Things that I am great at:

-A very good listener.

-Great at handling stress of any kind.

-teaching children to use thier creative minds.

-cleaning my house.

- sex

-raising my kids, being actively invovled with their school (pta)

These are just a few things I feel I am great at.

Sierra
