What Are You Nosey About Today?? 🦝

It’s RUOK day here.

So I’m nosey…

Are you okay?

Depends on the day, new things with my mom’s declining health keep popping up. I’m working my way into exhaustion.

Girly girl
It’s a long hard road!
My wife just finished 4 years of care for her mom
Oddly? You will miss the work

I’m nosy about how many PMs is considered a lot. When I get two PMs in less than a week it’s a lot.

I’m nosey about separation of lit/online “relationships” and real life. Are most people good at this? Is there a hard line? What advice would you give others?

My advice:
-be up front about your expectations.
-don't say things like you'll leave your spouse for them if you don't mean it.
-remember that the person on the other end is a person.

I might have written about this somewhere.

Having a downer today. (Pass this over if you're in a light mood.)

Ugh! Slogging by. Self-employed is a mixed bag, especially when 'self' has conflicting directions and desires. The big paydays are awesome but the projects have been getting bigger in spite of having less help than I used to. Today I was working on a lonely hilltop in the middle of nowhere, it was beautiful but I was alone with my thoughts.

2020 was... Well... everyone I know wants to rip it off of the calendar, I certainly do. I lost a brother and two best friends - one to sickness, one to stupidity, and one was murdered. Aside from my kids, they were the only men I really interacted with and they were haunting my thoughts all day as I wallowed. To make matters worse, two of my sons recently moved to another state...

Then I started feeling guilty for feeling down. I really have nothing to complain about - loving wife, healthy family, all of my adult kids are doing great and moving on in their education and lives.... Buck up, butter-cup. That's the manly thing to say, I just need a good cry. :(

Hey, nothing wrong with crying. It's alright.

I try not to give advice.

But there's a difference between an LDR and a Lit relationship, with or without scare quotes. Though the former can evolve from the latter.

I’d think it’s different for the people in open/monogomish type relationships and the liars/cheats.

I try not to get involved with the liars/cheats because 1) most people ARENT good at it and 2) the person they’re cheating on usually deserves better. However, I’m aware that most people aren’t in open-ish relationships so it’s easier to cheat than face the issues at home. To me, I assume it’s a matter of time before they’re lying to me, too.

My advice is generally to not hurt the people you swore your wouldn’t hurt. But again, I understand that’s difficult and creating an alternate reality is easier. I just don’t think many people are prepared for how devastating it is to the other person when they find out, and I believe in-person partners deserve better.

I’m nosey about sleep. How much sleep do you have typically? Do you fall asleep easily? Do you sleep through the entire night? Do you snore like a chainsaw? Sleepwalk? Talk in your sleep? What’s your sleep personality?

3-6 hours depending on if it's a restless night or not. I do not fall asleep easily though music playing helps sometimes. I usually wake up at least once during the night. I have been told I occasionally talk in my sleep. As for sleep personality If referring to study I think you are, I fall into one of the two night owl categories depending on factors in my life at the time.

My relationship with sleep has been a rocky one all my life. I've often had trouble falling asleep when there's noise... due to my current living situation, I use a white noise machine a lot. I used to be a night owl, but realized I feel better when I get up early, so I made myself switch. I'd love to be able to go to sleep when I'm tired & get up with the sun every day, but that's not practical in the winter. So mostly I get up early, stay up late-ish & take naps.

Oh, and I've never talked in my sleep, that I know of, but my sister used to say I'd occasionally sit up in bed, eyes open, look around, stare at her for a bit, then lay back down, asleep the whole time. I'm glad it was me & not her, because that would have completely freaked me out!

A bit like shenglung. I have a weird relationship with sleep. I'm a definite night owl. And can normally have between 3 to 6 hours of sleep. I find it hard to fall asleep sometimes. And so I can stay up quite late a lot of times.
Then every 10 days or so I crash and sleep for like 10 hours.
I don't think I do anything but snore a little sometimes.

I feel fortunate that sleep is fairly easy for me. I get between 7-8 hours each night and usually sleep soundly. I think those close to me might get annoyed that I won’t let difficult conversations lay unsettled before bed, but I do believe that is part of my peaceful sleep… sound mind/sound body.

I might roll from my left to right side occasionally but I always wake up to a bed that barely looks slept it. I don’t snore, talk, or walk….but I’ve been told by several people that I make small “mousey” noises as I fall asleep.

I try to be in bed by 10 every night.
I don't always sleep through the night.
I am usually up between 5 and 6 depending.
I do snore when seriously tired.

I am very lucky because sleep comes very easy to me. On most nights I get a minimum of seven hours of sleep. I do not snore much unless I consume an excessive amount of alcohol. I do toss and turn at times if my mind stirs before my body. My biggest gripe is that I haven’t been able to achieve the wonderful wet dreams of my teen years. Lol

6 hours and relatively reliable. If I snore, sleepwalk, etc. I have no idea. I can sleep anywhere (probably the result of commuting by public transportation for many years). Routine is typically to lay in bed on my back, some deep breathing and focus on clearing my mind and then when sleep is imminent, I'll roll to my side or stomach and cuddle my pillow. Lol.

You didn't mention this, but I'm also nosey about dreams.. Especially after reading a couple posts from people who don't have problems sleeping - do you dream and remember them?

When I remember them, I have very vivid dreams, sometimes they can get very emotional & it carries with me when I wake up. And in the last few years, I've been remembering more and more of them.

I dream a lot and vividly, but rarely remember after I'm awake. Just an awareness that it happened. I did recently have a dream where something jumped out at me and I quite real worldly jumped up and screamed like a child. That was lovely.

The funny thing about sleep. I've had insomnia for a million years now. But what started it, was both working graveyards for years, and still having to function during the day for my kids, and my daughters insane sleep walking. She used to sleepwalk so badly, that many of her friends parents wouldn't let her stay the night. When she slept walked, she used to look for me, and if for whatever reason I wasn't home, she'd go find her brother.
But at her friends houses, she walked out the door of a couple houses looking for me. So they wouldn't let her stay the night.
I stopped working nights when I pulled in the driveway at 2am and she was in the driveway looking for me. FUCK ME. No more nights for me.

Sleep used to be so much easier but that's changed over the last year or so. Now, my back or hips decide to wake me every hour or so because they start aching. The funny thing is that I have no aches during the day whatsoever. New mattress didn't help. Pillow between my legs can help alleviate it for a little while but I'll wake up several times per night to change positions and it's a fight to fall back asleep every time.

I love climbing into bed with a cozy all night snuggler. I probably average 6ish hours on weekdays with long mornings on some weekends.

My wife loves to molest me and get me to talk in my sleep. She is an insomniac and likes to use me for her own release, if I start snoring she distracts me. I often wake penetrated and completely aroused. She says I'm super sweet and always agreeable to anything sexual.

I have some sleeping bondage issues leftover from being sleep restrained as a kid, I find it very soothing to be secured and touched. I have lots of fetishy lingerie and sleep in it on most nights.

I don't sleepwalk but my wife does - it's probably the main reason she stays awake so much. It can be scary! One of her somnambulating habits is to take pictures with her cell phone, so we sometimes have a record of what she does and where she goes. Streetlights through tree limbs seem to be a common theme. She often puts thousands of mystery steps on her fitbit. If anyone should be tied into bed it's her but she is in denial.

I'm nosey about apologies. do you find it hard to say you are sorry? When you are? What about when you don't think you did anything wrong...but someone else feels that you did. What do you do then?

Honest...not stalking you. It's easy to say I'm sorry when I know I did something. I'm stubborn if I don't think I did anything...and the hardest is when I know I did something but I also think you did something. Why should I apologize first? I probably should because I'm on one end of the apology, but not always the easy answer when you're upset.

From their point of view, I am in the wrong ? I apologize
