Hey everybody,

I was just wondering something... What do you think makes a good story?

Do you prefer an involved or superficial plotline?

Do you prefer something realistic, slightly "fantastic" or "unreal", or plain wacky?

Is there something (anything, from a theme to a turn of phrase, from an attitude to a story "pattern") you see not often enough? Something you see too often?

Sharing some thoughts... :)

ask and ye shall receive

A good story to me is one that flows naturally. If the reader never gets the "what?" reflex when they are reading then it flows. And definitely an involved story in the case of erotica for me. If all the story contains is sex, then I have no build up, basically no "foreplay." I like that verbal foreplay, it lets me into the minds of the characters.

Fantasical, unreal, realistic, to me it doesn't matter, as long as it's believable. Say your cahracter has sex mid air (self-propelled), have you given me enough lead info to support that as a possibility ie. "Sarah found herself suddenly floating 8 feet off the ground having sex with Daniel. "

Are you telling me how ie daniel is magical and can fly, Sarah had a flying wish granted, some 3rd party has enchanted them? Does that make sense?

Something I see too much is sudden jumps in the storyline. Transitions are important and they don't have to be long or in depth. You can skip hours by simply saying; "The sex was fantastic, so they spent the next several hours enjoying each other."

or

"Jane returned to her room satisfied and thought of what their next encounter would be like."

I would like to see more authors reading through their catagory before writing their stories. You have an idea but are you so sure you didn't read it somewhere else?

Example (and no offense meant on the part of the authors) At the moment we have three Buffy the Vampire Slayer stories on Chyoo. Wouldn't be more desirable to add your ideas to someone else's story if they had the idea first? But then all of this is just my humble opinion.

my view

promblem is some of the autors never check up on there stories. That drives me crazy

Well what I look for is a good sex scene because I'm a total perve :)

But other times (when both my hands free) I like to have a lot of action and strugle. Challenge the character. I dont like to makes things to easy for them, like to get them in trouble in fun ways. You may know me as fethishboy to. If you guy read any stuff I write you see charcter in my story come very close to getting killed and things normaly go totaly wrong. The challenge to me is getting them out of that trouble

I also like a lot variety. Also I like strong women charcters. crazy Bad girls rule. Also a lot of kink is nice

confused

I'm not confused in any way what yo mean by the question, or any of the examples... I'm confused about how I could possibly answer that. There are many cases where There's no eroticism whatsoever in the first 3 or 4 threads, and as long as the writing is good, I may keep reading.

I almost prefer no eroticism at the beginning. The only eroticism I want at first is masturbation, arrousal, and seduction. I want to get inside the charecters heads, I want to guess what might happen next. I want to be surprised, but I don't want to be shocked. I want to be in suspense but I don't want to be dissappointed.

I like it when many options are open to you, but I don't like it when all there are are 3 or 4 pages of descisions you have to make. I want my charecter to be able to do anything, but there are some things I don't want them to do.

I like some forplay, but I don't want it to get too poetic or too romantic, I want realistic foreplay.

I want more people to post in Insurance Salesman's Wild Ride which can be found here: http://www.chyoo.com/dx/editor/?dx=s&story_id=47&mode=8

In conclusion... I just want something written well, something that leads up and doesn't dissapoint, and I dont want my charecter to have to work his way out from getting screwed(figuratively) for more than 2 pages.

I'm, perhaps, the exact opposite of most erotic story readers. I like a good amount of story to go with my sex. I actually prefer to have a good reason why the sex is happening, instead of the usual I see her, I want her, I get her. I guess that just makes me a freak amongst pervs.

BTW, nice name 69.

lol ditto on the name comment

But I totally disagree with you, I think many of the stories have good stories. Not most or all of them by anymeans, but there are quite a few.
