What are you listening to ?

Any metal heads?

I feel like hard rock and metal get a bad rap these days. I'm 27 and I feel the majority of my age group doesn't listen to the genre, especially the much younger folks. Wondering if any Lit peeps are metal heads like me..? I like rock from the 70's, 80's all the way to now, and sub-genres like nu-metal, metalcore, melodic metal, etc etc. Any rocking women among us? 🤘🤘

Now here's a really cool band, and a really awesome song: Horror Vacui "In Darkness You will Feel Alright."

With that name and that cover art, people would assume it to be some kind of black metal type thing, or cavern-core down-tempo death metal, but it's not that at all. It's really good- just listen to it. Some slight Joy Division and early Christian Death influence but overall just a great sound.

All sort of music. It really depends on the mood. From classical music and film scores (all time legend John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat, and Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL from more recent ones), Nick Cave is always on ready when i want my brain to be somewhere else.
But most of the time it's Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Dio, Lordi, Threshold, Candlemass, Ghost, King Diamond, Savatage...etc. It's a long list.
But above all, I think my all time favorite is AYREON. The class for itself. Pure perfection.

Anne Feeney often spent between 200 and 300 days out of the year on tour,
performing at folk festivals, fairs and concert halls across the country and in
Europe. She toured at times with Pete Seeger, Loretta Lynn, John Prine and
the Indigo Girls.

As a musician, she blended elements of Irish, bluegrass, folk and pop music
while coupling many of her melodies with political lyrics, sometimes tinged
with satire and humor, that were reminiscent of the ’60s protest songs.
