Welcome to the music corner and the madhouse in general.

Good choice of artists. Prince was so far ahead of the time, most people are still playing catch up. Or rather they don't. Most current producers are content with ripping off cheap trap beats, pasting a lazy hook over it and calling it a day. Who can dance to this shit? No bass, no groove, no appeal, lasting or otherwise. I'll take vapid 80s pop over current Top 40s crap any day of the week. And I normally identify as "metalhead".
