Billy Idol - Flesh For Fantasy

next up

Khemmis - Desolation

A great new metal band from Denver, Colorado. Lovely twin guitars like Thin Lizzy, spunk like the young Iron Maiden and a general atmosphere similar to many of Robert E. Howard's best Conan stories. Fuckin' great!

Keith Jarrett, with his trio, being Gary Peacock and Jack Dejohnette

The album : Standards Live

One of our mutual friends reminded me just yesterday that it has now been a year since our friend Dahlgren (aka 'The Druid') departed our planet. I wonder what he's listening to tonight. :)

The Night Flight Orchestra - Sometimes the World Ain't Enough (album)

A love-letter to late '70s/early '80s rock, with all the cheese, silly lyrics and awesome guitar solos you'd expect from the likes of Kiss, REO Speedwagon, Survivor, Journey and so on. Well played and produced. Not very high-brow, but simple summer fun.

May be a time warp, but decent.music, eh, Chloe!

I think it was my grandads. They used to run us round all the time and I grew up listening to their music in the back seat. The Clash I remember from my back seat days. I used to sing along....

Back to Icehouse and Crazy..... i do play a lot of the ones I like over and over

Only know you're high when you've been feeling low.

Passenger: Only know your lover when you let her go! About to see/hear him live at our local Music Fest tonight!

Le Freak - Chic

Good one.

After listening to a whole lot of 70s disco lately, I don't get the hate that style of music eventually drew. Sure, it's formulaic and the lyrics are one-dimensional, but compared to the crap we have today? The musicians could play, the grooves even get an overweight, dancefloor-phobic metalhead like me in the mood to shake my ass and you could actually UNDERSTAND what they were singing. Try that with Cardi B's latest.

Also, not having to hear autotuned vocals is pure bliss. Even Donna Summer's voicegasm in "I Feel Love".

I totally agree with you.

Donna Summer. Wow. I hated Disco in in the 70s, but I really had a thing for Donna Summer. All the Pop Tarts out there (I'm looking at you Taylor Swift) should check out "Love to Love You, Baby" to see how it is done.

Listening to "A Pirate Looks at Forty" by Jimmy Buffett.

(Ok, I doubt Taylor Swift is a Lit member. Maybe Carly Rae Jepson.).
