What Are You Listening To Now? 6.0

I've always liked "Then Came the Last Days of May" from their first album, and the very strange "She's as Beautiful as a Foot" - rock-n-roll fetish ;).

Their early tracks, like "Then Came the Last Days of May", are good blues.
I have not heard "She's as Beautiful as a Foot". I will have to check that out.

Both on the first Album - I don't stream, nor can I listen to individual songs, so for me it's always been whole album sides or silence.

ZZ Top - Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell (from my eyes)
Not my fave of their slow blues but still a great one.

Nighthawks - Black Night
Has been did by lots of peoples, teh oldest version I has is from Charles Brown (1950). Some peoples claim it's the original, but blues that old is hard to document (partly because black blues musicians of the time was never given credit (or moneys) for what they did) and partly because music labels are good at taking credit for the artist's works (see JLH) and it obscures the history.

I gives credit where I can find references.

Mikey Jr. & The Stone Cold Blues - Help Me
Originally recorded by Sonny Boy Williamson II. First version I heard was from Alvin Lee (most awesome blues man!) but this one is really good

Ooh, I like.

One of the bad habits of Australian radio - the only ZZ Top songs that exist here are the big three singles off "Eliminator". Those three get heavy rotation, but I don't think I've *ever* heard anything before or after that album. They do the same thing with a lot of other bands; the only Skynyrd you'll ever hear over here is "Sweet Home Alabama".

Me, currently listening: Lords of the New Church, "Dance With Me".

Some reel-to-reel tapes I'm ripping to disc, gnarly stuff I cut in the early 1990s with a Roland analog synth, a MiniMoog, processed guitars and noisemakers, and found sounds. It's even better than death metal for making people go away and leave me alone.
