So my parents came down to visit with us today. They have moved south for the winter and today was the day they chose to come down a bit further to visit.
We spent much of the day exploring several beaches further south of us. That was a lot of fun and we did find a couple of nice beaches where we could do some snorkeling when the waves settle down.
When we finally got back home my father started perusing my book cases in search of some good reading material. (He found a couple of books.) He looked over the stairs I made out front and deemed them well made and solid, although being the engineer he is he did suggest a minor change. (One that I will be doing.)
When the wife and I made dinner my parents watched with interest and some fear. I was making something they hadn't had before. Their fear was unfounded as they enjoyed the meal. (Chimichuri with mixed Veggies and Garlic Bread.)
After the dinner dishes were done and another pot of coffee had been brewed my father stood with his cup of coffee and suggested to me we move out to the Patio. At first I was concerned, what does he wish to talk with me about now? Instead as we headed out he told me to grab a cigar and I could have one while we talked. (I don't smoke around him because the Tabacco Smoke bothers him.)
Well I was surprised by this but I grabbed a Cigar. After making sure he was upwind of me I lit up and we sat out there talking about bikes. It turns out he has already signed up for a Safe Riders Course and is looking at some bikes up where he lives. We talked about different kinds and sizes of bikes. We also talked about the work I'm doing on my bike.
All in all we had a good time with no mention of politics the entire day. What a pleasant day.
