So, there I was, being my normal lovable self in some sort of close living situation (an apartment complex possibly). I was chatting with a friend (and the cutest woman I know) in her room while she was getting dressed to go to some kind of competition - no clue what that was. She was petite with long brown hair and a sparing dose of freckles across her nose. Like I said, cute.

But she was also very sexy to me, in a unconscious sort of way (from her being a fun and nice person and also having the confidence in herself). I could not help myself - I stopped talking, reached out and gently stroked her arm.

I remember quite clearly her grin. "I don't have time for this," was what she said, but I pleaded and nuzzled her neck. How could she say no, right? After all, this was my dream.

I will keep the details to myself, but let's just say what followed was very detailed, enjoyable and amusing - we both wanted to get off before she had to go, so we were doing our damndest. We tried various things, but she was rushed and so I felt rushed. Near the end, I just kissed her and wished her luck, and promised to finish this when she got back. I said something along the lines of "maybe we can have many nights to finish."

Oh, the little ironies. *laughs* So, now I am waking up from what should have been a wet dream (over my 34 years I have had my share, and enjoyed them for what they were), or at least had a disturbed member, if you take my meaning, yet I was relaxed and feeling good. I laughed at myself in a wonderful self-depreciating way, thinking "so this is what wet dreams turn into when you get old; the next thing I know I will only have dreams of cuddling and nothing else."

While I was busy being amused at myself, my subconscious must have been wondering who my wonderfully detailed playmate was. And it then struck me that she was the "supporting character" of one of the stories I am working on. That was a real eye-opener to me - I do not know anyone like that, and the one girl I knew in college who fit the physical description (which I copied for this story) had a completely different personality.

Assuming this fun-loving girl in my dreams isn't some dream nymph, or person I have yet to meet, etc... discarding all those stranger hypotheses, it must be some sort of animation of the character in my head. It feels like that is the case.

Has anyone else had this type of bizarre interaction with their characters (aside from the common dreams-causing-the-story that many of us have experienced)?

Now I am off to make progress on that story, since I was clearly prepped for it. :D

*laughs* More than once. I have a running obsession with one of my characters that has lasted since I was thirteen. One of these days I'm just going to get it over with, become God, and create my fantasy from dust and air so I can do as I please with them.

Or at least dream about it. :D

Oh, yes. Very much so. *chuckling* :D

OH, yes. Naughty perverts, the lot.

Don't know why I even hang around them.

yes.

(not unusual at all, since I am "Sherry" and someone else I know is "Joseph" from one of my stories. ;) )

Yes, and I have a Ladies' football team of them, including substitutes.

Og

I've had characters walk out of my dreams onto a page, but never to my knowledge have they walked from paper to the subconsious.

I think I am envious ;)

When I'm really into a storyline, the characters run rampant in my dreams in all manner of ways...some more enjoyable than others.

Ditto.

I rarely dream these days.

I dream about my characters and I write about characters that I have dreamt of.... I am currently in a war with my mind over what to do with some characters from a book that I am working in... they want me to write them right this moment and Idont have time for them... ugh

I have gone to sleep thinking about them and have woken up thinking about them... and they have walked out of my dreams onto paper, as someone said... but I can't recall a dream where the character was the central focus AS or AFTER I was writing...

I have only once dreamed of one of my characters, but that was wuitepleasant, although there was no sex in the dream. I often have dreams that I get inspired by though, not only with certain characters but also situations. I love to write those down right after I awake.

The best settings of moods in my stories have been inspired by dreams.
