Okay so I was a bit disapointed we couldn't ride the bike up to my parents place this morning. The ride up would have been a blast with nice cool temps. and almost no traffic.

When we got up there we were met by my parents and given large cups of strong coffee. Ahhh home. Walking inside we were greeted by the mixed scents from the kitchen.

Soon after we arrived there my father and I were chased from the house by my wife and mother. My father and I took off to check out some spots for viewing Manatees but didn't see any. (We did spot some other interesting wildlife though. Several Hawks, an Osprey, a couple of Sandhill Cranes and two young women driving along the beach road topless in an old VW Super Beetle.)

When we arrived back at my parents place it was in time for us to start cutting meat. My father tackled the Turkey and I tackled the rest. Needless to say by the time we were done with this I was about ready to fall over from food deprivation. The other guests arrived. An older couple that are old friends of the family and my parents neighbor who has no family left.

When we sat down we did so to a feast. A smallish Turkey. (Smoked then cooked to perfection. 16 pounds.) Honey and Brown Sugar glazed baked Ham, Wild Boar Sausage, Roast Venison and of course all of the trimmings.

After dinner my father and I did the dishes while coffee was brewed. Then the group of us went out onto the patio for our after dinner coffee. AS we were sitting around out there my father goes inside for a minute. When he comes out he's carrying a box which he sets in front of me. By this time everyone is grinning. I open the box and find inside it two items. The first is a box of 50 miniture Cuban Cigars. The second is a set of large leather SaddleBags for the bike. As I pull these out my father grins and asks if I had thought they had forgotten my Birthday. What a family.

Later on in the evening as we were getting ready to leave my mother whips up a care package for my wife and me. 3/4's of the leftovers are packaged, labeled, bagged and carefully loaded into the back of the car.

The drive home was just as nice as the drive up there although a bit cooler. No traffic to speak of.

Now I am sitting here at home with my belt still loosened. In the fridge and freezer sit several pounds each of Boar Sausage, Venison Roast, Ham and Smoked Turkey. There is also sitting in the fridge and on a Bakers Rack one half each of a Pecan Pie, Sweet Potato Pie and real Mince Meat Pie. On the Bookcase the Cigars are sitting in a mini Humidor and the Saddlebags are resting comfortably on the table waiting to be put on the bike as soon as I know the bike is running right.

Happy Birthday, Cat! I hope you get your bike running properly soon -- those saddle bags will surely make a nice addition. Pics eventually, I hope.

Thanks all.

My Birthday was a quiet one. (My wife was disapointed she couldn't find me what she wanted. The Queen Album with "We will rock you".)

I had a good one none the less.

The bike isn't running right but it is running. I'm hoping to get it running right soon.
