Yeah, Abilene is a great place to live, but it's WAY conservative. Guess that's part of what makes it a great place to live, but it can also be a bit boring.

I know what you mean about being home. I'm typically feast or famine. For the last 2 or 3 months, I've been gone about 50% of the time on work. Prior to that, I was always home and going stir crazy. So, you make sense to me at least.

Maybe we'll cause more people around Abilene to come out of the wood work. There is bound to be more on this board. Too many Air Force significant others around with time on their hands b/c their SO is deployed and single Air Force personnel that are making Abilene a temporary home.

No, I'm not in the military. Several friends are, but not me. I moved to Abilene because of work.

I'm actually married. I play with my 3 year old son, and do some web development. I don't know too many people in town, so I don't do much. My wife has met more people than I have b/c of things my 3 year old does - mommy groups and such.

I don't do much. I'm boring. I like to surf this board b/c there is tons of information out here - both good and bad. Also, most of the people out here are really nice and helpful.

How about you? Why are you in Abilene? You in the military?

I understand if you don't want to share too much personal info on the board. If you still want to chat and exchange info, PM me.

I've never done the bar thing in Abilene, so I'm pretty uninformed about it. I know there doesn't seem to be many opportunities here to meet people.
