We went to the Crucible Social Sunday Spanking Pary and had great fun! The presenter "Mr. Meanie" was pretty engaging, as well as the three women he used as demos. We were late so we didn't get thier names.

The class provided good information - basic safety, places to avoid hitting, and places that are fun to hit. Then the fun stuff - demos!!! He showed a various ways, from the basic over-the-knee (sometimes the basics are really the sexiest, IMO!) and ended up with doing a funny wheelbarrow imitation while helping the bottom get up from a backwards-cowgirl-hands-on-floor position. That was, for me, one of the best aspects of the class - there was a lot of laughing and joking. I'm still a nervous nelly about playing in public, and laughter always calms me down. It helps me get past the "what if I'm not doing it right and every knows?" worries.

He had more toys than you can shake a flogger at ;-) and it was really cool being able to look at and handle them after the class was over. I saw one evil looking spiky thingy that the top could increase pressure from light to horrifying that intrigued me more than I want to admit.

After some relaxing and snacking a bit, we decided to play and I jumped on a saw-horse type structure (I really need to learn the actual names of these things!) and for the next good while (no clue how much time, I was pre occupied) got my hiney spanked, flogged, whalloped, pinched, rubbed...well, you get the idea. Good times!

We then moved upstairs for some more private time...which was great fun as well ;-)

All in all, a great Sunday afternoon. The staff were so helpful and did a great job of making us feel welcome - I felt like I was a friend comeing for a visit, really, not just another person in some anonymous club. We ended up becoming members so are looking forward to other fun events in the future

I'm really glad you had a good time :) I hear only good things about The Crucible, and I'm happy that they're treating you well.

As far as the "what if I'm not doing it right and every knows?" worries go: Just keep in mind that not only was everyone new to the scene at one time or another, but there is no right way to do it. Don't worry about what other people might or might not be thinking, and just have a good time with your man :)

This.

sb, what types of things do you feel like you may not be doing right?

It's kind of a vague idea I have...which I realize I get from too much reading and not enough interaction with actual people.

And part of it is kind of like when someone finds a new hobby and are all excited about it, but when they are around someone who has been doing it longer, there is a feeling of "oh, wow, he REALLY knows his stuff!" and becuase I'm kind of socially anxious I have that idea that someone will point to me and say "THERE SHE IS, THAT BIG FAKER! SHE THINKS SHE'S PART OF THE GROUP BUT WE KNOW DIFFERENT!"

Yeah, I understand that. The funny thing is that no matter how much your head knows that that isn't happening, it still feels as though it is. I still know very little but I don't get that feeling as often when I get to go to something now. I've been able to get to know people a lot better which helped.

I am pretty sure i'ts my "harsh self critic" and if I were at a sewing class or a science fiction book club, I'd feel the same LOL

We are really having fun with this whole new aspect of our lives, though!

That's great :) And the more you go out, and the more friends you make, the less anxiety you feel. You'd be surprised how quickly this all becomes just a normal part of your life.
