After berating the Republicans all weekend, accusing Newt Gingrinch and Coleman of politicizing the death of Paul Wellstone, the Democrats turned the memorial service into a partisan political rally. Trent Lott, attending to pay his respects to a Senate colleague, was actually booed.
Some of the speakers, especially one of Wellstone's Senate staffers, sounded as shrill as the Nuremburg rally, whipping the partisan crowd into a frenzy.
This shows me how serious the liberal Democrats are about keeping the Senate. They have no qualms about using the death of one of their own for political gain, but any criticism of that person by the Republicans is attacked as "inappropriate".
