Well we are finished with the old place.

This morning my wife and I went over with several cans of paint and the required tools and painted the entire interior. No it wasn't fun, but I felt good afterwards.

When we were done I called my landlord and told him we had just finished painting the place and wanted to know how he wanted to handle turning over the keys. When that was arranged we left and will not look back. (What should be interesting is his reading his letter about why he isn't going to pay us our deposite. I may just have to frame that sucker.)

So now we are free to start working on our own place. (Oh how nice that sounds.)

You've got it tied down, right? :D

Like you have never seen.

I could tell the original owner of this place came from my old Stomping Grounds just by looking at how it was anchored.

Let me describe it.

This trailer is a 1969 Statesman. Originaly it came with anchor strap at the four corners. Now it not only has them but two in the middle as well. Plus the original owner put top straps in. (Not just the bolt ins that some trailers have but actual Webbed Steel Straps running the length and width of the Trailer.)

Oh and this place has all of the Hurricane Shutters.

Sweet.

So in the next storm the only thing you need to worry about hanging onto is Mrs. Cat.

:rose:

(So glad you're away from that asshole landlord.)

Swets,

Oh yeah, I don't worry about this place standing up to storms. (It's been in the same place for the past 30 years with very minimal damage.) I would not only willingly stay in it during a storm, but I would allow my wife to stay in it. (And that is truly saying something.)

There is one tree that threatens the place, and tomorrow I start taking that tree apart. (A Pine Tree that is sickly. Taking it down will not reduce my shade, but it will make this place even safer.)

I have already replaced the Cables that anchor the corners, as well as inspected the other anchors.

As for during storms, my wife, myself and all of the cats will be in our place of work. (A requirement for us.)

Sounds like it might stay in place ;) Or at least the straps will!

Here's hoping it never gets put to the test!!

Very cool, Cat.

Glad to hear you're doing well.

Rob,

Yes we are finally doing well.

After 14 years of renting we now own our own place. So what if it isn't a palace, it's ours and we are more than happy.

Give us a couple of months and we'll have an open invite to our friends.

Oh man it is such a great feeling. Only those who have been there know what it truly feels like.
