Well this should prove interesting.
At noon today I received a call from my landlords Realtor of choice. She was calling me to inform me that she was going to be showing the house at 1300. When I made the comment that A) our lease wasn't up until 31 July, and B) she wasn't giving me much of a warning.
She commented that this was not her problem and that she was simply giving me the courtesy of letting me know they would be going into the house.
When I commented that I hoped she had good Liability Insurance as I would be holding her personally responsible for any damages or losses while she was showing the place she complained that I was being unreasonable and would be letting my landlord know about this.
Well I looked it up and according to law they are supposed to give us reasonable notice, (Which according to Florida Law is a minimum of 12 hours.) Also according to Florida law I can demand that either my wife or I be there at the time of their entering the place.
Now I will wait to see if my landlord complains to me about my acting in bad faith. If he does then I am angry enough to staple the Resident Bill of Rights to his forehead.
