Well, life is changing again...

...and it's time to let you know.

I am starting a new job next Tuesday, Feb. 17th. As a result, I will not have the time to devote to the Poetry Forum that I've had for the past year and ten months.

I can't tell you in so many words how much fun it's been. And, on the other hand, I can't tell you how much I will miss each and every one of you.

It's true that I will not be gone, but it is true that I will not be focused on my writing as I have been. In fact, I'll be lucky to find time for any writing until next November (when the new job is done).

*sigh*

Someone else will have to pick up the Monday slot for 'new poems.' It's likely that I will have even less time than I did before and who knows if it will be able to depend on me.

Well, I don't know what else to say.

I'll be around for a few more days, then I won't be. Please feel free to PM me or email me. I'll certainly answer, if I see it.

I'm happy for you that you have a new job--I'm sure given your talents, it's something that will engage and challenge you, but you do know how deeply your daily presence will be missed.

Really, you are and have been one the the best parts of being here. I've mentioned before that you were the first poet to make me feel welcome at Lit, and I know many others who could say the same. And that doesn't even BEGIN to account for the countless poets who've benefitted from your painstaking reviews.

We expect to see you back here as often as possible. I personally will be miserable if you're not here a few times a month!

And poets--I'll take on the second review day (Mondays) for now.

Judo, I hope you find enough free time to pop in now and then so that we do not have to go "cold turkey" (and no, I am not referring to that machete wielding wild woman, at least not at this time). You have taught many of us about form, structure, and imagery. We all recognize your talent. Please continue to write and grow, even if you far outgrow the rest of us.

Good luck. Don't cry too much. Hell, instead of doing something else when you need to the edge off, and you'll have that need in a new gig, stop and play here.

Even when folks move on, you keep close with those you love. I know that's true. And for those times when you just can't make it, your friends remain true.

I don't know about others, but I have had friends that life took in very different directions, yet when we saw each other again, the love was strong. Love doesn't dissipate just because new challenges and paths come our way.

Life is about cycles. You have a strong affinity for water. You know these things. The tide always comes back in.
