Well, I guess she carries him the other 364 days?

My only question is, does it have to be your own wife? :D

I didn't see that requirement in the wikipedia article. Whoever she is, in that carry she's still going to have to be wiling to sniff your butt while you grunt about.

Well, there was that one guy carrying two women. Reminds me of a little knickknack my grandmother used to have on a dresser. It was shaped like a little wooden tombstone.

Ma loved Pa.
Pa loved wimmen.
Ma caught Pa
with two in swimmen.
Here lies Pa.

Wait... so is this like the exercise course for a clean getaway then?

I wondered about the guy with two "wives" - was he a bigamist? Or did he need two to add up to the hundred pounds? I was hoping for an interview with them.

No. If she's too light you can carry someone else's wife.

But the UK version is mild compared with the Scandinavian contests.

Yikes, the wife had to hold her breath there for a while in the water.

My wife and I would be non-starters, even if I was in that kind of shape and didn't have a bad knee, ankle, heart, and hip - she's only a quarter inch shorter than I am.

In some of the early contests in Finland, it was difficult to decide whether the husband should carry the wife, or the wife carry the husband. Some of the pairs were equally hefty.

I thought so - wives carrying husbands...

D(.)(.)----------- My hubby is like some of those others. I'd probably have to carry him.
But sometimes I have been carried by fun loving bikers.
