Really? Why don't we just institute the same requirements that they do in the Starship Troopers novels and refuse everyone the right to vote unless they volunteer for military service?

Edit: Spoken like a true Republican drone. You should be proud of yourself. They want to demonize anyone who needs aid from the government and you're just handing them ideas.

And before you start harping on me for being or defending the Democrats... I hate them too. They're just as bad, since Democrats practically built the welfare and food aid systems in this country, and they wrote the programs in such a way that you damn near can't get off the shit.

I know, I've been on food aid for the past 5 years. The program forces you to look for jobs that pay well above average, shit that 95% of the people they send can't even qualify for without at least 4 years of college. Going to Mickey D's is NOT an option unless you actually abuse the system. The little $100/week I'd bring home after taxes from a part-time job at a fast food joint wouldn't even cover my bills, let alone what I'd lose in food stamps, so I'm forced to sit, wait, and search. Search for a job that pays at least $13/hr, just so I can continue to barely keep my bills paid and my family fed. I live in one of the hardest hit areas of the Depression that politicians INSIST on calling a recession, and I can tell you from 5 years of searching... only PROFESSIONALS can find jobs like that here, and even THEY barely make it on what they earn.

Oh, and another thing, that nonsense you just spewed plays right into their hands. Partisan politics are divisive by their very nature. It is their deepest desire to keep every last ethnicity and economic caste in this country at each others throats because that is when the people... more importantly, the VOTERS in this country are weakest. They NEED that division so we won't notice as they slowly take our rights away, one at a time. They need that division because, without it, we'll see through their bullshit every single time.

I know this because I got a firsthand education in Politics and Politicians 101 from my father, who was a politician for the first half of my life. Useless pricks, the lot of them. I hate politics to my very core, politicians even moreso. Damned leeches.

Let's just prevent anyone who's made a bad choice from voting.
It would certainly reduce campaign spending since each politician could just spend a few hours one evening before the election phoning all the eligible voters.
