Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the new Literotica in Spanish forum. Sorry that the first post is in English! :)

After years of requests and a long time sorting out the details, we are finally adding some language specific forums to Literotica. These forums will go hand in hand with the new language specific versions of the website which we are currently beta testing.

Over time we hope that these forums will become an active area for our Spanish speaking members to talk to each other as well as sharing feedback with us for how the Spanish version of Literotica can be improved.

We will also be looking for at least one Spanish speaker to mod this forum - hopefully (but not necessarily) someone who also has some experience submitting Spanish stories to the main Literotica site.

Thanks for all of your patience as we continue to roll the language features out and take care! :)

I think that it was an excellent idea in you guys posting different languages forum. That is awesome!!!

Any comments on the quality of the Spanish translation on the main site?

We are trying to figure out if any of the other translations have the same problem as the original German translation. Thanks again for your feedback! :)

La página principal necesita mucha ayuda...

Any comments on the quality of the Spanish translation on the main site?

Hey, yeah, the main page needs a doctor, fast.

I kept running into stuff and thinking WTF? Is this Latin? Atlantian?

Maybe I could straighten out some of it for you, but you need a well-educated native writer of Spanish as soon as you can find one...

I think most Spanish sites (in keeping with the style of periodicals, store advertising, etc.) address readers with the more formal Usted rather than the more familiar tu. This causes verb tenses to change.

Site = sitio
I think "contenidos" should be "contenido"
subscribe (Usted) = inscríbase
"haz chat" = chatea
competition = competencia
editor = redactor
candle = vela
transvestite = trasvesti (i think)

"Glume erotice originale cu mult umor." WTF???

Some things just don't translate well, they need to be "reinvented" -- hopefully you can find that native Spanish writer to do that for you.

I could correct everything I could in the HTML and send it to you but it would take me hours, and there would still be lots of errors. On the other hand, it would no longer be quite as chingada.

attached file, suggestions to consider

I offer a beginning toward some suggested edits with complete humility... my edits still need editing!

Anal - the butt, and nothing but ... sort of a play on words so I carried it into Spanish

Other stuff is amiss, and I didn't get very far. Lemme know what you think.

(rename to .htm to take a look... sorry about the mso gobbledegook, i'll try to get my simple html editor working)

Hi there,
After something like two months out of literotica I came back to have this nice surprise, a forum in my mother language. And since I see I might be the only spanish (from Spain) here, or at least in this post, I could help with the main page, which is a bit weird-looking now.

I just gave a little peek but some things caught my eyes like.

WRONG --- RIGHT
Matricula --- Registro
perfi --- perfil
Mantiénete --- mantente
sit --- sitio
formularios --- foros (this is a huge error, formularios is form; and spanish people might think they have to go there to register since matricula is also wrong)
direct --- directo

And so on. I could help you a little bit with this translation, since I have even been spanish teacher in a foreign country (my lessons were in english, so i'm more or less a good translator).

Just let me know, willing to help.
Víctor.

Greetings!
I think this is fantastic to have a forum such as this one. I know there are many bilingual (English/Spanish) members here at Lit. As for myself, I'm American but my ethnic background is Argentino, this is really a treat. Much success! :)

Thanks for the help, everyone.

It looks like it's back to the drawing board on the Spanish translation too. Wow, that means we had some serious problems with almost all of the beta-test translations! :(

I am going to talk to a few people and see if I can find someone new to go over and fix up the whole Spanish version of the site.

I will keep you updated via this thread and hopefully I can get more feedback as we get a 2.0 translation in place.

I'm sure that things will need fine tuning even if we find someone great to do it, but the next step will be to find someone who knows what they are doing to redo the Spanish version of the main site.

Keep the feedback coming and thanks again for all the help! :)

' welcome

No prob, Manu ... willing to offer what meager suggestions i can as time permits. I minored in Spanish but almost have enough credits for a BA, and have spent considerable time in Mexico.

I'm thinking it shouldn't be hard to find a journalist or educator from Mexico who'd like to help out.

Also, it really is cool to have a Spanish version of the site. Many thanks to you and Laurel for letting it be so.

Another comment about bad Spanish

Dear Manu, Aspasia or Fer:

I had previously sent a text listing of what the Spanish index should look like, it is quite lengthy. But if you need it again, you can find it attached here.
