Weirdest / most interesting fact you've learnt recently

I got a daily Desk calendar for Christmas, called fact or crap.

Fact: President Jimmy Carter averted a nuclear meltdown in 1952 and an experimental nuclear reactor. I knew he was in the Navy and captain nuclear subs, but never knew this little tidbit!
President Jimmy Carter did help avert a nuclear meltdown at the Chalk River plant in Canada in 1952. However, he never captained a nuclear submarine having left the Navy as a Lieutenant in 1961 as he was preparing to become the engineering officer for the USS Seawolf (SSN-575) – the first in her class of ships. The Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23) was named in his honor in 2005.
 
Naked Mole Rats live in a hive-mind like society that is very much equivelent to Ants and Termites. They have workers and they have queens and it is thought to be a result of Convergent Evolution.

We know that Ghandi was committed to a voice of justice through poverty and fasting. This created so many issues. No shoes meant his feet were blistered and leathery. All that fasting made his health questionable, his breath wasn’t great … and some say it gave him clarity and vision bordering on spiritual magic.

All this made him a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
