I am a lover of weird information. Some of it interesting/fascinating, some stomach churning, some inconceivable yet completely true. My curiosity is endless. Let's get some facts moving!

Did you know Mickey Mouse had a big sister named Felicity Fieldmouse. (Sounds like it should be a cousin, but that's my opinion)

The children of twins are genetically closer to half siblings than first cousins

There is evidence to suggest that guided mindfulness before sleep can improve cognitive function

OK, I'll get my nerd on.

I recently learnt that pure water is not a good conductor of electricity.
It's the impurities that make water a conductor.
De-ionised or distilled water is actually one of the best insulators!

Wow. I wonder at what point water becomes too impure to conduct electricity.

Completely useless fact:
I just learned that Alexis Bledel (Rory from Gilmore Girls) identifies as Latina (despite being of Dutch, German, English, Scottish and Irish descent), because her mother was born in Phoenix and raised in Mexico, and her father is from Buenos Aires. She was born in Houston and Spanish was her first language; she didn’t learn English until she started school.

I recently learned that despite their frustrating habits of making lots of cobwebs, it's better to have a house 'full' of Cellar Spiders (tiny bodies, really long thin legs), than not. And this is because they're actually very vicious and they attack and kill the big fat brown hairy spiders that look far more scary.

So, now, I respect my housemates and accept that I just need to de-cobweb often.

Insanity is a legal term, rather than a psychological one.

We attach it to serial or heinous crimes as a way to cope with the unknown. But there is no mention or use of the word insanity/insane in the DSM-IV. The media is largely at fault for the misrepresentation.

Also, Mental health issues are more common in mass 🔪's rather than serial 🔪's.

I wonder if cypress hill claimed to be insane in the membrane incase they were charged with taking hits from the bong 😁

In the old Roman days, the thumb up or thumb down symbol were the opposite of what TV and movies have portrayed. A thumb up gesture had, essentially, the same meaning as giving the finger. Basically the gladiator was "fucked" if given a thumbs up. Thumb down meant spare him. Only it wasn't a thumb down display. It was a closed fist with the thumb underneath. That meant spare him.

My cousin is friends with B Real and I met him once when they came into the mall store where I worked in my early 20s. If I ever meet him again I can ask 🤣

Wow. The first Gladiator movie lied to us all!

Owls don't have eyeballs. What they have is more skin to eye tubes. Since they can rotate their heads close to 360°, they only move their focus by moving the head, not just the eyes.
