Claire was set to marry Jackson in a matter of a few hours and only now were the wedding day blues beginning to show. Cold feet was one thing, but this was something entirely different. A woman was supposed to marry a man due to the love they shared for one another, not because her parents wanted her to marry into a rich family; that was plain wrong. But here she was, set to marry Jackson and all his riches. Things were never as simple as that though. Claire had had someone else on her mind as of late and today it was all she could think about. Lily St. Claire, her childhood best friend and had been since kindergarten.
With her long blonde hair, golden in the sun and darker after it had been wet. She was no match for any woman or for any man at that. Her skin was fair and her body slender yet it still managed to curve in all the right places. Her bright blue eyes always captivated Claire, it never mattered what she was saying. Compared to Claire, the bride to be, Lily was a ten and Claire came lagging behind at a seven or an eight. Speaking of which, Claire was currently standing in front of the full length mirror dressed from head to toe in white. Her shoulder length brunette locks were braided up with a few single strands curled down the sides of her face for added effect. She felt dirty looking at herself dressed in such a flawless color. They say that white is pure, but Claire felt far from that today.
Just when things couldn't get any worse, a knock on the door was heard. Thinking it was one of her bridesmaids, Claire allowed them to enter without a second thought, only to instantly wish she had never let her enter.
It was Lily.
She had sent Claire a text just last night outlining every last reason as to why Claire shouldn't go ahead with the wedding. She had dismissed her thoughts with a simple 'goodbye Lily x' and thought nothing more of it; until this morning of course. "What are you doing here, Lily? You can't be here, not today." She didn't want anything going wrong today, though everything still felt wrong. The only thing that possibly felt right right now was that Lily was there with her no matter how much she wished to deny it.
