damn near all USB devices work on USB or PC...... go to compusa or somewhere that has a moderate knowladge of Mac....

Theres a ton of stuff out there for under 100 bucks that works as a webcam, some even work as low grade digital cams, they wont have the features of a nice digital cam, but as a webcam, they aint bad

Under the "view details" section on the website. It says it supports "Apple MacOS 8.1 • Apple MacOS 8.1 or later". Doesnt this mean 8.1 through 10?
I am asking.... I truly do not know.

One of the best places on the net to get almost anything is www.outpost.com they do carry some mac related hardware and software, but make sure it specifies for mac.

My two cents! Mac's OS X is completely differant then 9.x or eariler. For things to work on OSX they need to be made specifially for it. Butt because it is so new most Mac also come loaded with 9.2 for backwards compatiblity. (Some early OSX compatable Macs atcually booted up in OS9.2) Look to see if your IBook was preloaded that way? Just a thought! Peace

I've got some experience using an iBook--looks like your best bet from a compatibility perspective is the iBot FireWire webcam from Orange Micro. Seems to list in the $80 to $100 range. The manufacturer has an upgrade to OS X, but I think they may charge extra.

i would recommend strongly against macmall... they have good products but they have horrible customer service and are the least reliable company i have ever dealt with. It'd be easier to drive to california and pick it up from their front door than to try to get it delivered on time and complete. But that's just my experience talking.

Don't forget about ebay. You can find a compatible cam on the web and then look for it offered on ebay. You might be able to get it for much cheaper and still the same thing.
