I'm looking for an older copy of Front page that was made for Windows 98 does anyone have an Idea where I might locate one?? Or can someone recomend an easy to learn web design program???

I didn't have too much trouble learning Dreamweaver in a short amount of time, but that's an investment.

I have no idea where to find a copy...your best bet might be a friend who has one lying around (or maybe you could put an ad on a free local site?). There are lots of sites like http://accessfp.net/fp-98.htm that may be able to give you info on getting a copy though.

thanks I'll try that My puter is so old I need an older program so it wont eat up my Ram.

I think front page 98 was free with MS back office? I doubt you'll find somewhere to download this but maybe asking around friends who own businesses. Would need to be a business that ran an exchange so probably more than 5/6 people on email.

thanks I'm actually doing that but I've had no luck yet *pouts*

Try looking here they may not have Front page (I'm too lazy to bother looking) but they do have ACEHTML Pro and I know they have Coffee Cup too.

Search for HTML editors and you will find a load, ACE I use nearly everyday, and it does take some learning, but the help is not bad, and it is quite clear once you get the hang of some of it.

It is a freebie so you don't have to pay money, just blood sweat and tears to learn it.

Do a google search for "First Page 2000". It is a scaled down Front Page clone. And it is free.

Man, I wish I knew this before.

Question - Is Dreamweaver and Macromedia the same thing? They both build websites right?

Macromedia is the company that produces the application called Dreamweaver.

Thanks. I missed the word "Flash".

Is there a product called Macromedia Flash?

It's used for web design. Dreamweaver creates the web pages and Flash provides movies and sound (putting it ultrasimply).

Yes it is...

But it is more complictaed than plain HTML and takes learning in it's own right.

It produces some great effects, and is"flashier" than most websites need.

More Complicated than HTML? No thanks. :D
I'll stick with Dreamweaver.

Yeah, use Dreamweaver to build the site. And when you're ready, use Flash to add bells and whistles.

It can be used to design web pages. I used frontpage for my site, though I have the Macromedia suite. I used Frontpage with my middle school students, but HTML with adults.

Netscape has a free web design program.......I know, 'what the hell is netscape'.

Sounds good, but is Studio MX is a combination of Dreamweaver and Flash?

Edit - What is a vector graphic software?

Yes. It includes Dreamweaver, Flash, ImageMagic and Freehand.

Vector graphic software is used for printing. The images created from it can be enlarged without lose of quality. Freehand and Adobe Illustrator are examples.
