Wearing the ring on the wrong finger

My wife usually wears her wedding ring on the wrong finger as she says it fits better!

I was told by an American friend, this can be interpreted as a woman not being married? Is that correct or it normal for women to switch the ring finger?

The reason she gives is perfectly believable.

If she wanted to be perceived as "not married," she could just take it off easily enough. No matter which finger she likes to have it on.

What if you asked her to let you take it for re-sizing, so it will fit on the right finger? How do you think she would react?

Anyway, no, a wedding ring still looks like a wedding ring even if it's not on the traditionally-correct finger.
