We need comments on the new Story Page!

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I highlighted the four changes I noticed and asked if these were all the changes he’d made or if there were any others.

As to your, “You do know all those changes just happen when you login don't you?” - Changes #1, #2, and #4 that I highlighted are there whether I’m logged in or not.

My only problem, Change #3, seems to have been a problem experienced by others if I’ve read the posts on this thread correctly.

I also noticed another oddity – some stories have very small font size – you can hardly read them. For example the font size on the MOST VIEWED story on the site “A” My Name is Alice changes a couple of paragraphs into the story and becomes miniscule. You have to have very good eyes if you want to read that one.​

In this story Reality the font changes right after the scene break on the first page.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 and Google Chrome 6.0.472.63

Thanks for the report, confirmed this bug in Firefox as well. We had this CSS bug once before and it seems to have returned with the update. Working on it now!

Yes, that is supposed to be like that. Once we get everything back up to speed and get all of the bugs worked out, that area is where the other content boxes (Similar Stories, Also in This Series, Share, etc.) will go.

Thanks for the screencap, BTW! I would love to see more screencaps from people having problems - it makes it much easier to understand what the problems are.

I have also noticed that this line (42 comments/ 49006 views/ 0 favorites) is barely visible in the vBulletin 3 Default Style.

Yes, the text showing that data is quite light because it's not really that important for the reader - more a little bonus in case they are interested. We didn't want it to overshadow the rest of the more important features (Comment, Vote, Feedback, Share, etc.)

The vBulletin theme you are using will not change the look of the story page. However, in the future you'll be able to make customizations to the look of the story page, including changing font sizes and faces along with the ability to change the background.

Comments weirdness

Thanks for the feedback, Harding. Can you let me know where you are seeing large text for the comment titles and in what browser?

It seems to be only in Google Chrome (my default browser). All looks fine in EI8, Firefox and Safari.

It shows as the title being in about 18/20pt font size, and the comment text in about 6pt.

2 – And yes I was able to get into my submission page today.

I’m intrigued by the concept of being able to “make customizations to the look of the story page”. Can you tell us when this change will be rolled out? Will we be able to center the story on the screen? Have you thought of seeking feedback on your contemplated changes before you implement them?​
