sucking cock, cumming on tits, and your first anal experience?

Just wow.

I have to admit I don't know much about the recent ruling - I have been out of the loop, all I heard was something happened. I do note that this board is notorious for not wanting to talk about real stuff. Hmmm...maybe I'll ask for a "News and Issues" sub-forum. Anybody interested?

I'd participate in that

I fear that it might be a small forum - but you know that many of us have tried in the past to talk about issues in addition to the "fun" stuff with often hostile results.

But as to the recent court ruling, it is a good day I think when we can witness another step toward the demise of the fear in this country of homosexuality. Societies change slowly (consider that it has been over a half century since the civil rights movement began and we still have racism in our society - but with the passing of time it is less pervasive I think) This ruling is one more small step toward the day when it is normal and routine for two people of the same gender who love one another to consummate that love in a legal way. But for now, there is still fear of homosexuals among many. I have said before, and I say it again - it is the responsibility of the GLBT community to foster understanding that our love is no different than theirs which will lead to the alleviation of those fears. This means that I believe that radical demonstrations of rude and unseemly behavior tend to hurt, rather than help, that cause.(again consider the civil rights movement - who has done the most to further that cause; radical black extremists like the Black Panthers or average working men and women?) I hope that all GLBT in California will embrace their new found right to marry in dignity.

"hostile results"? you've got to be kidding, really?

Well, what people have reacted negatively to is the suggestion that we should discuss more serious stuff and less fluff. People really like their fluff around here, it seems.

But that's why I think a sub-forum is a good idea. Those of us who want to have serious discussions can have them in there, and people who prefer the other stuff can just avoid it.

Yeah, you folks in CA are so special and enlightened.....How dare the rest of us un-special people not immediately applaud your uniqueness!

Before I am branded a toothless hillbilly, redneck, conservative, ect, I want to tell you that I grew up in California; perhaps the gay mecca of the state (Bay Area).

I am hetero with some curiosity and am ok with that. What I am not ok with is the original poster casting judgement upon this site. I know about the arrogance that you "elite" Californians embody. I moved to the other side of the country to escape it. You are not as special as you think....Sorry. I know your EST teacher told you that you were the center of the universe, again sorry....

Incidentally, do you live in Marin County?

one would think that simply not clicking on the topic link would be enough, wouldn't one?

I'm not totally sure that, after 11 posts, you should really be taking so much offense at a comment someone has made about this section of the site.
And, really, a comment that is pretty accurate.

We've had gay marraige for several years in Canada and all we want to talk about is sex. It quickly becomes a non-issue in manistream society.

You probably know best, but I still have my doubts. From your long experience here, do you think there is enough interest to keep a sub-forum alive?

Probably not enough interest, there are two threads in the author section about this, one just to say YAY and another to talk about it. I'm not sure they are still on the first page.

I think part of the problem is that most of the people who come to these forums, are either bi, gay or don't care anyway. Which rather means they either want to discuss sex, or discuss other things not having anything to do with sex because they go to the stories for that.

That said though, I have a feeling come November there will be a big active thread about this. They are working on getting a measure added to the november ballots to ban same sex marriage again. No matter which way that falls, there will be alot of people wanting to talk about it. At which point I am so going to feel sorry for the moderator of whichever section that falls under. :(

Especially Etoile, your way to cute to be subjected to the amount of abuse you would get as a moderator. :rose:

She lives in the same state you and I do, dickwad.

Now shut the fuck up.

I am truly surprised by the negative responses to a sub-forum for non-sex issues. For myself, I'd love to have a place to talk about same-sex marriage, gay parenting, ENDA, and other issues. Why is it so hard to see that not everyone is here to talk about sex, or that people sometimes have interests beyond sex?

The suggestion that "the board can't support it" or "it won't get much traffic" is silly. How do we know unless we try? There are a LOT of people - I know several personally - who don't hang around here because it's so hard to find non-sex oriented discussion. Hell, I'm one of the mods, and I don't post here for that reason.

I'm going to get it set up. We'll see how it goes.

carlisme: go fuck yourself ! ! !, and you being a "heterosexual" doesn´t mean you aren´t an asshole, since you are more than just that. You are a fucking asshole, and hurrah for the Californians :) Heck, I want to be a sub moderator then, if there comes a subforum :) and I hope Etoile, can be my teacher in that :) so I vote yes for a sub forum. And Etoile, you need a giant hug :) and a very friedly kiss on the cheek, or if you prefer the gentleman kiss, then I am giving you that.

Just wow.

I suppose why I lurk more than post.

But welcome CA, we in Mass have had gay marriage for awhile now, so I guess not that much of a special topic.

This is, after all, Literotica, so I am not surprised that the posters are more interested in fantasy than news.

Agree to Disagree

I applaud the decision in California to allow gay marriages. I never understood how California, of all states, could ban gay marriages in the first place. And Massechusetts has accepted it for how long now? Politics is a strange bird, and California voters are even stranger. I was born and raised in California, and while I truly love my home state, I now live elsewhere (but not anywhere more liberal, mind you).

Yes, I agree that the threads on this site are mostly about sex... wanting sex, having sex, looking for sex, etc. And I'll admit, I've been caught up in that as well. We all pretty much like sex, and it's sexy to talk about it. But it isn't always like that. I've seen a great many threads in the GLBT Chatter that deal with other issues than "I wanna suck cock" or "I'm curious about being with another woman."

Those of us who started out "curious" 20 or 30 years ago and had no one to talk to about it appreciate this site for giving us the ability to talk sexy about others of our own gender, explore questions and possibilities, even look at pictures and maybe even hook up. And there are a lot of people out there who are becoming more aware and confident in their sexuality through discussions in this forum. But I would also love to talk about other issues, such as gay parenting, gay rights, news from the GLBT community... might even clear up some of my issues that have kept me in the closet for 30 years.

Three cheers, finally, for the gay community's huge win in California! (Just remember that the California voting public has a very short attention span, so get to the minister while you can! :) )

Fluff? Fluffer?? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?

Sorry, i couldn't help it.

I think its a fine idea. However, I dont think "jerks" will stay away. Afterall, how many times does some ass come in here and try to instigate stuff. its a glbt forum, if you're not into it don't come in. But they do anyway. I think they will there too.
