The thing is, Tempty, I really do believe in compromise. If there is an unspoken, but clearly deeply felt set of 'rules', or some code of behaviour, and our light-hearted stupidity infringes on that on the GB, then I am perfectly willing to do what it takes to accomodate that point of view... It is ironic, though, after the free speech lecture that the Chat Mods took on that other thread... but never mind, we didn't come here to have a sensible discussion, and I took my meds now...

The thing is, Paul, that there are two deeply felt unspoken sets of rules here on the BB.

One set is for those who consider themselves "insiders"... and one set is for newcomers, and people who are more likely to be found in chat.

And that is total bullshit.

You replace any of the chat folks' names on the other threads with names like Lavender, Killer Muffin, Lancecaster, Problem Child, DCL, pretty_lil_stranger, etc., and the regulars on the BB would find the thread oh so amusing and pertinent.

This is not meant to point a finger at the regulars I named. Just using them as examples of "acceptable posters."

And for whatever reason, some of the regulars feel such a degree of ownership of that BB that they must post their nasty little "go back to chat or from whence you came" remarks, instead of just closing the thread and moving on.

More than half of the threads I read there are either nonsense between people I don't know, or long political threads that don't interest me. I almost always close them, and move on. There are lots of threads I don't even open to start with, because in my experience the person who started it is not interesting to me.

The main unwritten rule of the BB that I can see is "If you are not a regular, accepted poster, then don't bother. We will either completely ignore you or, should other unimportant fools join you in your thread, slam you for having the audacity to post your measly three threads on our 2000-thread-per-day message board. And don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out."

KM said that "chat drama is tiresome."

I think you can tell that I'm finding some of these attitudes rather tiresome myself.

I love boots. I'm so used to walking around in 4 inch heels (platforms, not CFM) that when I take them off I feel short.

Being a country boy, trix, I have 4 pairs of cowboy boots in various colors. When I wear them, I add an inch in height and am over 6'6". LOL They are very comfortable and I love 'em! AA
