We can have header images now!

I've only just tried to upload a header image, and although it's absolutely a great idea, I'm slightly annoyed by the functionality. There's no option to restore the default header image, which is an issue because, on second thoughts, I don't think the image I uploaded (the famous "Dream of the Fisherman's Wife" painting) will pass moderation. I also didn't realize just how long and thin the image boundaries are, so much so that it cuts out most of the image.

I guess the worst that could happen is that the image will be rejected and the default header image will be restored, so that's what I'm going to do for now, but it would be a lot simpler and more convenient if we could restore the default header image ourselves with the click of a button.

You could try saving the default image from somebody else’s profile, then uploading it? Might lose resolution though.

Oh well, I just came back to check and the image I uploaded has been replaced by the default image again. There's no notification saying it was rejected yet, but I'm hoping that's the case. If I'm going to have a header image, I'd rather find or order a custom image that actually fits the height and width requirements.

So you could always download that image file and then re-upload it for your profile if you just want to maintain the default look. By the way, the default image is 1080px wide by 164px tall, if you want your custom image to be precisely the right size!

The first image I uploaded I'd already cropped to 1080x164 per the site's guidance. It flashed up an error box that said the image was smaller than XxX. I think the size was 1198x204, but I'm not positive. I waited for a week, and the uploaded picture never appeared.

I uploaded the whole, uncropped image, used the cropping tool to get it to size, and it went through very quickly. I think it'd be ironic to uploaded the default image and have the site reject it.
