I was kind of sad to hear about having to lose a creature like this (it had supposedly become a threat), but I was amazed at the size of this reptile. It reminded me what tiny little creatures we humans are.

It would have been spectacular to see this creature floating throught the water alive (though from a safe distance) just once.

Thats awful. Couldn't they have captured it and maybe put it in a zoo?
Thats akin to killing a galpagos tortoise. Its a shame that he couldn't be maintained alive simply b/c of how old he was.

The thing suppossedly ate 83 people.

Nope, that's a different beast. Pretty sure about it.

I'm moving back to the desert now.

:D

TWO OF THEM!!!

Obviously, humans make good eats!

Can you imagine living that long and no one sees you? What a beautiful animal, it's sad to think it survived so long and met with such an end.
Not saying it wasn't bad that it ate people. It's just phenomonal to think it lasted this long considering how mankind has taken over so many natural homelands from these animals.

Yeah, you two are sympathetic until it starts eating horses and Alpacas...

Now, I'd pay good money for PPV to see Steve Irwin capture that first guy.

Sure people are good eats. no claws, no fangs, no hard shell, just soft & pink. Noisy though ;)

But can they be dipped in milk? LIke Oreos?

Different critter. The one you're thinking of was captured live and moved to a "crocodile park." It also was only 16 feet long, this looks to be closer to thirty feet long.

Correction, the link says it ws 21 feet and 4,500 lbs.

I've been known to be quite tolerant of those who eat horses. I've never sampled alpaca myself, but there's always hope.
