Hi all out there,

Am looking for recommendations for suitable "cool melt" wax / candles in order to start training my slave / sub. I believe that it is best to start with a cool melt in order to best test tolerances, and not strain trust.

Can someone recommend suitable purchases available in the UK?

Master and i have recently tried this with the little tealights you can get.....they are really good! Most hardware stores have them and i think it is Ikea that have bags of 100!!!

Would recommend holding them high up to start with, then moving closer.

Good luck....i know i love it when Master does it to me :D

I would also suggest looking in suitable stores and online sites for candles that are described as low-temperature for wax play. You definitely want to avoid ordinary colored candles and all beeswax candles because they burn at much higher temperatures than are appropriate for wax play.

I bet the fine folks in BDSM Talk would have some suggestions on specific retailers, and I believe there are some threads/links in the BDSM library. There are some great sites devoted to wax play that detail and link to the exact types of candles used, techniques/instructions, and results, so have a look through Google as Yank suggested. :)

Hello stranger (((hugs)))

If you cant find the right candles, using ice on the area first lessens the 'sting' a little. And Ive never been hurt (in a bad way) using that method, although everyone is, of course different. ;)

Stay away from anything like beeswax, those burn at a very high temperature. Stay away from shit you buy at the grocery store. Perfumed or colored candles, those additives have a pretty high burn temperature as well. Best bet is pure parafin, you can easily vary the intensity by how far you drop (cool) the wax.

I can't recommend BDSM Waxplay highly enough. Great service and products. The leather-scented candles in particular add a special nuance to that evening of painfull bliss.

Cheers dude, that looks like a truly righteous recommendation
