Different day, same shit. The alphabets didn't come.

As Wat has been TOLD before:

Wat is too weak and impotent for the “alphabets” to worry about or bother with.

If / when that ^ ever changes (not gonna happen) the “alphabets” will take Wat off the board with minimal effort.

I visited a gun show last weekend, mostly to just look around and visit with folks and maybe locate some 38-40 Winchester for an old 73 I'm resurrecting from the dead. I have a soft spot for model 12 shotguns, I'm always on the lookout for them (I get the vapors while fondling them) lo' and behold, there set 2 model 12s in a rack. My heart skipped a beat with joy... until I realized the barrels were just beyond the magazine inquiring about the guns I asked if they trench or police guns. No, the heretic replied they were sporters (full length and choked barrel) he continued, " I cut the barrel down to minimum legal length because they sell better" I was becoming ill. But held myself in check as I visited with this fucking godless heathen. Learning more than I could process mentally... (I needed to remove myself from his presence) recovering from my distress, I ran home as fast as I was able (I was in my heels) throwing the doors open on my shop sketching out a pentagram, lighting a black candle, then locating my voo-doo dolls and pins......
What the fuck is wrong with people? who would do such a despicable act? John Moses Browning just rolled over in his grave.

I feel your pain here. If you got this upset seeing what a person did to a gun wait til you hear about the things a gun can do to a person. I mean folks are literally in their graves I’m telling you!

I know what you mean. I also know that as long as you have the receiver, there is still hope. You can get new barrels, I reckon. Having gotten two new/old (qualify for C&R) rifles in the door over the last several weeks, I'm of the opinion that we should be damned grateful to have enough left to work on to get back to working as designed. Parts aren't cheap and labor is time consuming, but I think the rewards are worth the effort.


I have to hunt down a reasonable WRA op rod. The one I got is badly pitted. It'll work until I happen across something.

The hardest part of getting people to realize they have a problem is getting them to realize they have a problem. Thinking disorders are the worst. They hold on to their old ideas and get absolutely no results. They have to let go.


What I discover is, any idea dating back to an hour ago is probably old.


Of course, for those consumed with an overwhelming Need To Be Right, their brainpower goes into defending their old ideas, and if they can let go of the need to be right, then they have energy to question those old ideas.

When a gun owner thinks the solution to, checks notes, another weapon is to reflexively shoot, checks notes again, the offending owner of said weapon - it’s time to take a step back and admit that you may have a problem.

Okay, good news: I got the first rifle reassembled.


Bad news: I have something misaligned in the receiver area because the bolt isn't locking back properly.


I'm not looking forward to taking that back to pieces because it has the new recoil spring in it. My hands are still a bit sore from wrestling that son of a bitch together and not poking my fucking eyes out, or smashing a finger.


I'll let it sit overnight to compress the spring a little and tackle the damned thing tomorrow. It does look damned good in its new stock.
