Firearms must be stored unloaded and in a locked location, separate from ammunition.

Most commercial gun safes are next to worthless for burglary protection. Might as well have a big box with a sign on it saying "expensive shit in here, cut me open!"

I keep my rifles in a wooden locker in a hidden recess in the closet, shotgun in a PVC container near the fridge for easy access, pistol in same in my nightstand. I'm really more interested in protecting them from moisture than I am of protecting them from thieves.

And of course, practically every room in my house has a suitable blunt weapon on hand. Brass figurines and candlestick holders work well for that purpose. That's about as good as a gun at point-blank range, with the added benefit of the neighbors being less likely to hear it if I ever have to bludgeon someone to death. :D

The safe sat open all night and no mayhem resulted. My safe contents are defective

Really. I'm about fucking disgusted with my inventory. I'm Out West, so at least the odds have improved simply by greater numbers. Still . . . .

I found an axe on a job somewhere, once upon a time. It lives by the front door. It would be a brutal beating to get annihilated by that dull ol' piece of shit. Across the hall sits a Louisville Slugger. You breaks the door and you takes your chance.

I have an axe that I bought at a flea market. It lives in the wood shed. It would probably be a pretty good killing implement, since I keep it pretty sharp, but why on Earth would I need to kill someone in my woodshed?

I was strangled to death in my sleep last night by a 10mm RIA 1911.......I was hoping to say that I put up the good fight and survived alas this is the internet and things happen in the cyberverse that cannot be explained by science

Did all the goods arrive as promised?

The travel-cat and I arrived. I'm not sure if anyone checked the front porch. I know that I didn't. I'll look today, or earlier.

This is truly one of the saddest tales I have read during my 2+ decades on Lit. If you don't mind, I'd like to write this up, add a bunch of made-up shit to it and submit it in some upcoming story contest.

I never thought anyone could pull it off here on Literotica, but hold onto your barf bags folks, wat and wizz could be collaborating to bring us the Human Centipede in writing!

I checked again. Yes, all is well. The "stuff" is sitting safely in the hay house/autoshop being watched by anvils and Zelda the HfD.

I thought about this - I was still on my first cup of coffee when I first read it. I have one of those things, too. I like it. Is yours a single stack or a Wendy's burger model Double Stack??? MIne's a double. Gets a bit heavy carrying it after awhile, but you don't need a spare mag.
