Wat's Guns-N-Stuff Thread

The upscale model seems better. We'll see - if at all.
I don't have any need for a semi, only can have three in the tank up here. My pump can knock them out as fast as needed. But geees where is Mossberg going with that plastic shit...

You'd be, frankly, a stupid hysteric to think so. However, one is often judged by the company they keep. And much of the company you keep - here, that is - does think so.

Again, disingenuous. My bet is you vote for as many democrats or reproductive rights advocates as fish as I've caught in my lifetime. I'd even bet I've handled and fired more guns than you've voted in support of abortion rights.

Currently about half the women in the country are not allowed to choose their destiny without government interference. Yet you have "no opinion".

That makes your last sentence insincere.

You judged me and found me lacking. So noted.

You don't have any need for a semi or you can't legally own one anymore in canada?

Wat was friends with a liberal couple awhile back. We lost track of each other. Bright and hard-working young people. Wish them the best. They were very much about protecting the availability of abortion on demand. Wat was about maintaining the availability of firearms to the law abiding. Each of us agreed that we had no opinion on the other topic and found ourselves in accord, something quite unlikely to occur here.
Wat - let me be the one to save your faith in humanity.
I would like to see abortion available, although I thank God every day I was never in a position to face that for myself.
I agree with availability for firearms for law abiding citizens.
Which to me includes waiting period and background check.
Again, I thank God I have never felt the need for a firearm where 72 hours would be too long to wait.
I was over opinionated about the assault rifles. I am also fairly reasonable, so I inquired with 2 owners of multiple firearms as to their opinion.
I asked why law abiding citizens need assault rifles. Both said they don't need them. That they want them because they are fun to fire. Both have memberships as firing ranges and say they don't expect to ever fire a gun when not at a range or hunting in season.
Even with not expecting to, they defend their right to do so when warranted
That left me with another question still not asked.
Is there a middle ground on assault rifles where they are only sold to firing ranges and can be rented for use at the range? Like roller skates and bowling shoes?

Just a thought. Open for opinions.

I’ll admit to mixed feelings on abortion.

On the one hand, it’s absolutely evil and in almost every case is nothing more than an attempt by stupid people to avoid the predictable consequences of bad choices.

On the other hand, 30 million more hood rats would take this sinking ship straight to the bottom.

And, while having an abortion is definitely sin… theology gives us reason to believe that the victims end up in heaven because they never reached the age of accountability.

I don’t buy into terminology like “reproductive freedom.” It’s infanticide. I never tolerated soldiers using euphemisms for killing. If you can’t say it, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.

And finally, if the successful outcome of a procedure is that someone ends up dead, it’s not “healthcare.”
Having worked in women's health and infertility, I challenge your last sentence.
1. Ectopic pregnancy. If not terminated, fallopian tube will rupture, mother will be very ill and if not treated will die.
I don't classify ectopic removal as abortion since the fetus has no chance of developing in that location. You are caring for the mother by speeding the process.
2. Certain genetic anomalies.
Chance off full-term delivery around 5%. Chance baby lives past 2 weeks, <0.1%.
Chance baby dies in utero after 30 weeks higher than those.
Still born baby can cause mother to become septic and die. Carrying and delivering a stillborn still includes risk of maternal death during delivery which USA still has one of the highest rates in the world. Mental health of mother carrying a dead baby is immeasurable.
Terminating is health care for the mother.

I can debate the abortion for birth control is wrong side as well. But that isn't as much fun.

Wat if Wat were to shoot Wat? Wat would be the victim of Wat?

Wait, Wat? Wat is a third person? Wat is a second person? How many Wats?

Wat??

Wat's the best way to make sure all the fun stuff Wats are sane and law abiding?

For someone who vigorously howls about the "rights" to abortion and other civil rights. Your constant attack on the most basic of human rights (the second amendment) and the 1st amendment ( my rights to self expression) ie, I have deferent thoughts and views on life . It's beginning to become apparent your hypocrisy is making it self known.....
*chuckle*

I notice that I need to stock up on some more bullets, got plenty of brass, primers, and powder. Enough to last at least 14 months as I reckon.

If you could read with comprehension the answer would be clear and evident...

Your need to score "points" is childish and pathetic.

No need. They are perfectly legal. I have a couple, but semi's can be problematic up here. As an example my Win model 100 is not a cold weather rifle. My SKS on the other hand can crank them out from 40 above to 40 below...

Okay. Happy Friday!!! Last question first. I have seen shooting ranges where customers could rent a submachine gun. I think that it's just a way to piss away ammo/dollars downrange, but I'm not judging. I'll shoot my own stuff, tyvm. So, yes, such things are possible.

I guess the whole thing with banning "assault rifles/weapons" is, what is one, and what are we trying to accomplish? The conversation gets shrill and irrational very quickly. They gave banning "them" a try in the 90s with some arbitrary characteristics of constitution, and the firearms industry had legal versions of what was basically the same rifle for sale within months, if not weeks.

More as time permits. It's a busy fucking day here today and shows no signs of letting up.
