This one called for 30 i/p. I gave it the Wat Twist for such things like this which have been installed in the past. It's close. I do have a good torque wrench. Out West. Fat lotta good here.

Speaking of blue stuff (I don't think that they make a TACTICAL version), I honestly have no fucking idea how they built motorcycles before Loctite or zip ties.

Go to Amazon and get the Vevor Torque Screwdriver, about $30. I have a complete set of torque wrenches but they don't do inch pounds.

BTW, I found a bolt handle that might work. Seems there's someone out there still doing old school shit.

The next shopping effort is for a safety. The choices are a 3 position ala old school model 70's or a low profile job. Both get the job done with the difference being pricing. $60 for the low profile vs $300 for the 3 position. The 3 pos. is definitely more elegant but $240 more elegant???????

Yeah, there is that. I've got the low profile on my La Coruna 25-06. It's functional, unobtrusive, and blends well with the action...................but.....................the 3 pos. is definitely a nice touch.

I went cheapo because I already have all the bits I need and then some.

So you bought a Model T. :D

A note on locktite, make sure your threads are clean first. I use carb cleaner. Yes I locktite everything

Yup, carb cleaner, brake cleaner, MAF cleaner, hell, even starting fluid works. 90% Isopropyl works for small parts.

It looks like I might actually get some yard work done today. Not looking forward to it but its got to be done.
