Been working on an idea for a hypnosis story and an element I had in mind was somehow the subject being aware or made aware of what she did under hypnosis.

I got two ways of doing it:

1. My first idea is that a woman finds video recordings of what she did while under hypnosis.

2. The woman who is hypnotized is aware of what is happening, but though a combination of her senses and imagination, is watching what is happening through a third person perspective.

It's called "out of body experience" and such can happen under a number of pretexts, usually involving extreme emotional conditions. Especially if she is unable to accept her forced actions it might be just psychological defense mechanism as in "It's not me, that's my body under external control." However it does imply nearly full blown mind control and then it should be noted that real-world hypnosis is not mind control and can only erase inhibitions or some such, and what we are most likely talking about is magic already. Possibility of pushing the protagonist to observe herself in out-of-body style doing things out of her control might be acceptable claim in that context.

I'm getting sort of a twilight zone feeling from this idea. A person wakes up in a strange room, with no memory of how they got there. In the room is a screen with a sign that says "push PLAY." The person does, and is greeted by a video of themselves doing.... whatever. They watch in horror, wondering what will happen (or rather, has already happened) in the video...... Lots of ways it could go, from horror to erotica to mystery and others.
