Watch Thread Function Not Working

As the title says, the "watch thread" function isn't working. Just today, two of my threads, which I set to "watch" haven't notified me of any new replies.

It seems very random for me. There are many times I don't get any notification at all. If I've been recently active on a thread, I'm more likely to get a notification, but even that doesn't seem to be a sure thing.
