I know there are a million other threads about this, but I just wanted to rant.

This. Is. Driving. Me. Insane.

The third chapter of my second book has been stuck into pending hell since June 2025.

I have tried everything, I have rewritten it ten times to make it look less AI or "perfect", I have tried adding typo's everywhere, I have tried removing all words that could potentially mark it as illegal, I tried to change the title numerous times, I tried the tricks of certain people here, I have sent a DM to Laurel, sent a bug report and I have tried the 72 hours method multiple times.

Nothing. Works.

If your story chapter is still in pending purgatory, I do believe you hold the record.

User friendliness not so much for lots of writers. I submitted a short work about a first visit in an arcade at an adult bookstore. The story was hot but also deep feeling. It was rejected without cause. I followed the yellow brick road to ask why several times and never got an answer or even acknowledgement of my question. Haven't tried since but shared story with others to great acclaim.

I have tried everything
That is super frustrating and I'm sorry you're stuck...

But it's important for you and for anyone else who is in the same situation to understand that every time you make a change to your pending story, it takes it out of the pending queue and puts it back at the end of the line.

Every time you've edited, tweaked, rearranged, it resets the clock 😔

As far as anyone can tell, when something gets stuck in purgatory like this, it is a system glitch and NOT because your story is breaking a content rule. If your story is caught by an automated system, it happens quickly.

I never edited or rewrote my story. I submitted it once. I was notified that my story was rejected. No reason was given. I asked why my story was rejected. My question was neither answered nor acknowledged. I asked two more times with the same outcome. Discouraging.

That's an entirely different issue and also I don't work for Literotica😅

But there's a text box when you click on a rejected story in the rejected tab that will include a stock message for why your story was rejected.

Thanks Penny just throwing my two cents in. I had not assumed you were an employee of the site but, rather, a concerned and conscientious person offering support in an effort to ease the burden of a fellow...

I hope you mean the “15 days” method

In 2025, 72 hours isn’t enough to give the story a chance, if the method you’re talking about is deleting and resubmitting, That tactic is for either fixing actual problems you can see before Laurel sees it and rejects the story, or it’s for getting back in line when for whatever reason the system has dropped you out of the queue and you get zero progress for weeks at a time.

Being in line for 72 hours and then losing your place because you resubmitted can be a never-ending merry go round. Resubmittng after 15 days because you already lost your place and are stuck is a whole different matter: In the permanently-pending situation, you want to join the back of the line.

Thank you all for the support, it's just extra frustrating because it's a series, and I already have seven more chapters ready.
Also, my series has a pretty invested fanbase, and I get daily messages asking about new chapters, even as far as messages on my X profile lol
