So, I am visiting Atlanta! I'm going to be there during the week of Sept.9-12

Are there any recommendations for fun things to do in Atlanta?
I've done the tourist things, during previous trips.

Go to see CNN. Skip the coca-cola place unless you're really thirsty.

I don't live near there anymore so I won't be seeing you there.

Go to Stone Mt and see the laser show at night. I used to run up the side and look at the lights of the city. Go eat at the Varsity.

Every time we drove through Atlanta, our coach stopped the bus at the Varsity. It's a neat diversion if your stomach can still take that stuff.

I'll bet there are some nice mansion tours in Buckhead, though it's been a long time.

Well girlie, if I were you, I'd get in my car, drive to I-75, and drive about 3 1/2 hours southeast and come on down to Savannah darlin.........Much more interesting and entertaining, and many many more sites to see........Stay in one of our 57 B&B's. .....go to Tybee Island........see the Historic district........go to River Street or city market, and by All means.........CALL ME IF YOU NEED A TAXI!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived there briefly one year.....if you are into scenery, Stone Mountain is sort of nice, nice view up there.
The traffic is pretty horrific in Atlanta in rush hour from what I understand. Some of the areas north of town are pretty nice...at least they used to be.

You might want to do a search and find out what is being performed at the Fox Theater in downtown. I always loved that theater and often they have some great shows there. Types of performances vary though. If the Atlanta Ballet is performing, they are usually well worth the trip there.
