Meanwhile:

1) President Biden was NOT elected the first time because of his youth and vigor; it was because of his fairly inoffensive and unassuming presence which was needed at a time of deep political and social division:: President Biden was “an olive branch” candidate if ever there was one.

2) President Biden ran the second time for much the same reason as the first time: And AGAIN, he was NOT being looked to for youth and vigor, but for a continuity of GOOD government / governance.

3) It’s LAUGHABLE that SOME people are retroactively assigning total incompetence to President Biden after ALL he AND his administration accomplished.

4) President Biden: shepherded the country through and past an insurrection and a pandemic; passed LANDMARK pieces of BIPARTISAN legislation; CRUSHED the "great" Kevin McCarthy in the debt ceiling negotiations (which destroyed Kevin McCarthy politically); got the U.S. out of Afghanistan with the indispensable help of our magnificent service members; formed a coalition against Putin / Russia and strengthened / expanded NATO; averted a recession that the "experts" declared was inevitable, and instead, made the U.S. the economic envy of the world; ran a basically scandal free administration; governed with dignity & empathy; BEAT BIG PHARMA, and MADE EVERY EFFORT TO PASS AN EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM & BORDER SECURITY BILL (which DonOld & the MAGAt REPUBLICANS SABOTAGED - etc, etc, etc.

5) Taking ALL of the above into consideration, those retroactively assigning some level of incompetence to President Biden are demonstrating a laughable level of manufactured 20-20 hindsight (manufacturing a narrative).

6) Ironically, it is very likely that President Biden decided to run again due to the misogyny and Xenophobia / racism of the American electorate: IF President Biden had NOT decided to run again, there WOULD have been an ugly Democratic primary - with Vice President Harris AND the Democratic Party put in a difficult situation (the coalition would likely have fractured irreparably if Vice President Harris had lost the Democratic Primary to another white male candidate - a very real possibility). And if Vice President Harris HAD won the Democratic Primary, then the misogyny and Xenophobia / racism that contributed to her defeat in 2024 would have STILL been an issue.

Bottom line:

How things went down - with President Biden deciding to run again - was a reasonable gambit that didn’t pay off. It is what it is.

Ultimately:

The American electorate STILL had the option to vote for Vice President Harris, but they chose not to - for "reasons".

That ^ is on the American electorate.
