Wasting the internet...

I visit only 2 sites regularly... Lit, and Hotmail. Other than that there is the occasional visit to news sites to check out stories,... and chat.

What am I missing out on? Is there anything on the net that I just really have to see?

I just looked at my favorites list: Literotica, Chickmail, and a friend's Delphi Forum dealing in pagan/wiccan stuff. Well, my bank, too, but that hardly counts as a favorite.

I sometimes think of the net in the way I think of cable TV: a zillion channels of nothing to watch.

Wow. I couldn't agree more.

I have about 200 favorites, 50 of which I visit with any regularity. Most of those are utility sites, ie, programming, tip, hobby, or download sites. I don't really surf much. I find most of the sites I visit don't interest me. Once in a while I find something funny or original or interesting....but it's rare.

I check Literotica daily, but I also look at a couple other erotic fiction sites, as well as some history sites, and the Hurricane2000 site. I figure with 2 kids in school in Florida I should keep up on that one. I used to visit iWon.com daily, too, but don't bother anymore.

Good god, there are time when I would be lost without the vast knowledge contained here. Just the other day my father got a turkey deep fryer and asked me to help him figure out how to use it, within minutes I had links to several pages with pics and recipes. Am currently searching for what type of new wheels I should get for my rollerblades. I guess the thing I love about the internet is that I have the ability to become a pseudo expert on whatever I want and never be at the mercy of some ignorant sales clerk. (No offense to those in sales)
My favorite links, ones that I check daily, are:
http://www.m-w.com/ (online dictionary)
http://www.ironminds.com/(my favorite 20somethings)
http://www.modernhumorist.com/ (check out their Big Brother stuff especially the movies)
Plus Jeeves and various new sources. I won't even begin to tell you how much I love online shopping...

Yes, BUT, remember anyone can set up a Web site. Nobody's out there doing quality control and checking credentials. You don't really know if the info you're getting is true or cow dung. Take all the phony health advice and ridiculous rumours that circulate via the Internet. You just never know...

Besides Literotica and Hotmail, I check a site called Sixdegrees (anyone else use it?) and certain news sites daily. I'm also finding the Internet to be most helpful in my job search.
