I hope all of my fellow Washingtonians had a good holiday season and are off to a good start in the new year. I know you kids on the dry side see more sunlight than we do over here on the wet side but we all share the short winter days. I have my coffee and read the news in front of my happy light in the morning before going to work...I don't know if it makes me feel any different but it's at least a good way to wake up the brain until the caffeine kicks in!

I have been excited to occasionally see a faint glow in the eastern sky as I drive in to work at 6:30 am, exciting not only because it means a temporary break from the drizzle but also because the sun is coming back to us! I always celebrate the solstice as not only the shortest day of the year but as the point where the days will start getting longer again. Bearing this in mind keeps the winter blahs away. It really is a mind game as the seasons change up here in the PNW.

I wish all of you groovy, pervy people a great year!
