It doesnt just show you the words and text on the screen.......

It downloads the every word, color, picture, photo, page into your computer.

And if the web site, webpage, pictures, sounds, colours.....haves a virus, which you would not be able to tell one way or the other.......unless you use a daily updated virusscanner in real time mode

that virus gets into your computer.

It happened to peoples computers every single day, clicking on the webpage to look at anything I would want to look at, porn, research, religion, science.... And many computers get fucked up big time.

So be warned, and be careful....
make sure that webpage is worth visiting...
cuz it is going into your computer
and
it may bring a virus pal along with the view.

Duh!

How do you know a web page is worthwhile?

Unless you visit it:confused:

Good thing I dont go near the internet! I dont even have a computer:D

I'm joining the circus. They dont have any nets there at all. No worries.

Todd is right, that's why everyone should have a Virus scanner, and scan your computer every day. Also update your Virus scanning software very often.

I recommand the latest Norton's Anti-Virus software, expensive, but will worth the cost.

What do you prefer, losing a lot of information, and having to pay money to get your computer fixed. Or, buy a program to help provent any demage.

I thought you had to download the infected file to get anything(or open an attachment of an email)

I'm not worried about this anyway, my virus scan is set up to run all the time and it updates every 4 hours..

*edited to add*

I just found this on the net.. not sure how reliable it is, because I did a fast search

*We used to think that the only way to get a virus was to run an infected program. Now you can get many of the trojans, worms and virii by just opening your email program, or viewing a page on the net. The recent trojan NIMDA (sept 2001) would travel on a local area network and infect files, add a ********** code at the end of a webpage so that just viewing the page causes a hidden loader to grab the NIMDA without your knowledge, and also attach to email messages and send to those in your address book. A very scary and sneaky critter.

this and other info can be found at http://www.pcfixes.com/tpvirus.htm

Your computer as to download the web site and it's contents for you to see it.

This isn't Preschool boys and girls, this is the Internet. A very risky thing to have. I have been hit with virus wich cost me $500 to fix, I have been hacked so many times if I had a doller for each time, I would be rich. I have been framed for hacking. PI's hack my computer to dig up some "Dirty" information on me.
This, and more can, and has happend t o a lot of other people.

A word of warning.

Even the latest version of Norton AV + updates doesn't always
keep out a virus.

It did, however, detect and quarantine. So it's worth the money.
