want want want want want

Considering how tough squirrels are, I'm not sure that those kitties aren't asking for trouble. They may think they want until those incisors clamp on kitty toes.

Many years ago I helped a friend move to a farmhouse he had rented. His cat, Diablo by name, was part of the move.

Diablo was an indoor cat up until then. Once let out of his cage he hid for a while then started nosing around, checking out his new digs.

By this time it was dark and my buddy and I were out on the porch enjoying a beer. And watching the bats flittering just outside the light of the house.

Diablo comes onto the porch. And gets a look in his eyes just like the cats in the picture. "I don't know what they are," his expression said, "but I want one."

My buddy looks at him and says, "Look, Diablo. The perfect cat food. Birds and mice in one convenient package." :D

*grin* I just love those. Can't find it anymore, but mine is "Emocat Stands Alone".

Some of them are absolutely precious.

Wouldn't be impossible, of course, but given the thrashing a big squirrel can give a hawk, the cat might change it's diet after "catching" one, especially a big ol' fox squirrel.

I have cats, and they love squirrels.

Every few weeks I'll find a squirrel face in the yard. Across the yard I'll find a tail. If I find one, I'm reasonably sure I'll find the other soon enough. Sometimes they leave me a leg, but usually all I get is the face, and a tail.

Dead mice are a given, they love to torment the mice until they die from a heart attack. Birds once in a while I'll find a wing. The little buggers are rather effective hunters.

-chuckles- one of our cats is a 14lb tomcat, whom was adopted from being a stray. So, he rather well maintains the attitude he had as a stray, and quite accomplished hunter. Last year he came to the realization [he's only 3] that bird tastes like poultry, few birds later and he calmed down, though he still enjoys stalking em.
As far as taking down a squirrel, pretty sure he could do that too. He's taken down an adult raccoon that "invaded" his territory. LOL though hope he learned his lesson from that, got a lil banged up and locked inside the house for a couple months.
