I just saw this one some autoweek show or whatever a second ago.

For 990 Dollars Canadian you can learn to build and drive Reynard F2000 racecars.

Only problem is you have to live in Canada for eight months from March-October.

That would be sooooo cooooool.

hmhh link might help

Sounds like fun...I have always liked race cars.

I would like to take that course that puts you behind the wheel of a NASCAR car and on the track. Had a friend that did that...he loved every second of it.:)

Bah NASCAR boring and they don't let you go very fast, like 130 MPH, and it is on an oval track which means 130 is not even close to pushing the limits.

Oval Tracks boring, not pushing a car to its limits boring and 3500 lbs cars that are not tossable boring.

Heh...my buddy had to run it up to 200 MPH. It was the minimum to pass the class. He also ran in a group with the class in a race of sixty laps. He placed second. He was also offered a cahnce to drive for the big boys too. He couldn't do it since he only did it for the experience of it. Has some good video of the whole pace trip too.

Cool which track did he run his at?

I know most of them only let you do 130 or so.

I think if my memory serves right...Daytona. I will have to check with him in a week or so and find out the name of the school. His teachers were former drivers on the circut.

That would be better then the smaller tracks where you can't push the cars as much.

I still like the smaller cars on the road courses though.

I wanna race stock cars. I had an uncle who used to do that. I wanna do that.

I know he had a lot to say about the whole thing. You have mirrors, but at 200 if you look, well the race is over. Have to concentrate on what is ahead. Also it was very expensive. Still want to do it though. I have been as fast as 160, but to be in a NASCAR car on a NASCAR track...priceless.:D

I'm sorry, but this sounds like a Dreamguy story to me.

The Richard Petty Driving Experience operates at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. These tracks now require restrictor plates to keep the speeds down. If they make the pros run restrictor plates, they're not going to let amateurs run unrestricted.

Also, you generally have to work your way up to the opportunity to be on the track with other people. Those "Advanced Racing Experiences" are only offered at the RPDE main tracks, Atlanta, Lowe's, Las Vegas, and Texas.
