Do you find yourself wanking off while writing a story. I think it's the biggest reason (no pun intended) why it takes me time to finish off a story. "Relief" is the ultimate double edged sword. It can enhance the process or stop it dead.

In a short, hypersexed story Id imagine the urge to release is frequent and high, you are working on your fantasies mostly and a concentrated version at that. But if you arent writting because of it, you need to adjust your process.

Some of my ideas have only come to me in that adrenaline addled state. I quickly note them and flesh them out as best as I can. Trying to write a whole story or even an entire scene that way would be useless. I take the fragments I can only reach when "high" and feed them to my logical brain later. It decodes then enhances them. I prefer clarity over the novelty and I know my chemical soaked brain would be useless in trying to come up with something thats not been done a thousand times before here anyway. Release as you must but consider it as a tool for your writing that can either harm or help the work. Use it wisely.

I must be the only one to reply that never feels the need to wank as i write. For me i have to have clarity when i write. I very rarely get turned on although after the whole story is finished and ready to be published on here i will then reread it and enjoy it.
It may sound snobbish but i have to concentrate fully on the words. It has to flow well and i try to be as grammatically correct as possible. If i were trying to write and play i would be unable to write.

Don't be embarrassed, that's very similar to my process! I think that masturbating to your own (finished) story is an important part of the editing process ... I will usually go through several "drafts" of improvement via this process.

Whenever I'm writing a sex scene for here or any other work, I usually try to hit an ideal state of arousal where I am about as into things as I hope the reader to be at this point in the story. Of course, that's a hard balance to maintain, and I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a break. If I masturbate partway through, it usually stops the creative process for a while -- but either way, I almost never finish the first draft of a story in one sitting anyway.

Exactly! Sometimes I will read a first draft (when I am just jotting down ideas, doodling if you like), and if it doesn't get me hard I then write and rewrite until I am hard and have to masturbate.
