I am envisioning a modified version of the MCU in which Wanda Maximoff, grief-stricken over the loss of both Pietro and Vision, is secretly enthralled by Agatha Harkness. The evil witch uses Wanda's desire to reunite her family to influence her actions, quietly compelling her to erect the Hex around Westview, New Jersey. This is due to the existence of a Nexus Point under the city, a hotbed of magical energies where multiple leylines converge. Entries in the Darkhold indicate this can also be an opening to other worlds, which Agatha hopes to use to free Mephisto from his prison realm.

As Agatha hatched her plan, she managed to track down the twins Wanda had given up for adoption as a teenager, Billy and Tommy, as well as influencing Wanda to steal Vision's body from S.W.O.R.D. The Hex was erected to keep the Avengers out and the townspeople in, as well as a few other goals. Agatha's plan has a few different layers in this:

1: Wanda must gradually increase her strength in Chaos Magic enough to rip open the Nexus Point. Managing the Hex and brainwashing everyone inside helps her achieve this.

2: Billy and Tommy must eventually be sacrificed to give Mephisto's soul enough energy to pass through to our world.

3: Vision's reformed and Chaos Magic-infused body must be used as a vessel for Mephisto's soul, since ancient enchantments prevent him from ever possessing a living body again.

4: A handful of young adults kidnapped by Agatha must awaken their dormant X-Genes within the Hex, becoming the first new Mutants in decades and eventual soldiers for Mephisto's army.

5: The townspeople of Westview must play their roles, with the ultimate destiny of being thralls to the revived Dark Lord.

I will be playing the characters mentioned so far, with Billy and Tommy as my mains. Anyone else who wants to hop on board can take any Marvel character they want and rework them as a young adult with a dormant X-Gene who gets kidnapped by Agatha and brainwashed into living at an orphanage in Westview.

In this continuity, Mutants have existed in the past, but they are extremely rare and most X-Genes remain dormant forever. For her schemes, Agatha used a number of magical detection techniques to track down people from all over the world who had the best chance of awakening their X-Gene under the influence of the Hex.

If there is sufficient interest, I will delve a bit deeper into the lore and history of this version of the Marvel Universe, but I don't want to overload any interested parties with too much info at once.

EDIT: Oh, and I wanted to add that you don't have to play one of the kidnapped Mutants if you don't want. Feel free to discuss other ways to have your character show up in Westview, such as a Monica Rambeau-type situation or something similar.
